★ 5This was our first time visiting Brattleboro. We were getting hungry and searching for somewhere to eat. Upon viewing the outdoor menu we were pleasantly surprised to find so many vegetarian options. The inside atmosphere was warm. The staff was fantastic and the food was surprisingly amazing. We have never eaten anything from Turkey and now we are both found our favorite place to eat. For the hour drive home he kept saying mmmm eggplant with goat cheese! We might have to make another hour trip just for more!

★ 4Friendly greeting and service. Negative reviewers must have been on a bad day. Our server was prompt, personable, and knew the menu well. Drinks (including water) arrived appropriately. Not a large space but comfortable. My falafel wrap was good (could have used another ball) and tasty. The four of us enjoyed the meal, the drinks, and reasonable prices.

★ 1My wife has eaten at the Tulip Cafe in the past and raved about the food, so a little after 1 p.m. today (Dec. 29, 2025) we stopped in to see if they could seat a party of eight. The man behind the bar said no; we pointed out that there was an empty table for four, and at least five empty seats at the bar, suggesting wer split our group. “No, find somewhere else to eat,” he said. When we asked if he was serious, his response was, “I said no — did I stutter?” We were stunned by the hostility, and left. We later learned from their website that the cafe requires 24 hours notice for parties of six or more. If he had explained that, we would have thanked him for his time and left. Instead, it was one of the baffling examples of anger and rudeness that I’ve experienced in years. Last time we ever patronize the Tulip Cafe.

★ 2I’m a local and I’d skip and go eat elsewhere. We stopped by with a friend and the man serving us seemed very uninterested in his job or at least being pleasant. My friend from NYC said with that kind of customer service this place would go out of business in a heartbeat over there. Also, a cup of mocha latte is $7!!! No, it didn’t come with any gold shavings. Seven dollars??? Who are you catering to?
