  Loved it!!!! Highly recommended. We recently visited Vermont and while randomly searching for a nice place to eat.. we came across this place and wanted to try it for its beautiful ambiance. But the little did we know that food is beyond beautiful. We ordered Pistachio pesto pasta and kale salad. Both were just amazing. Loved it so much that we went back for breakfast the next morning and ordered the chili spicy crispy chicken burger (it was crispy yet melting in the mouth) and The works sandwich with everything in it. Had a wholesome food experience.

  Relaxing atmosphere, cozy space, yummy food and drinks, great service!
  
  Portions are smaller than the typical US restaurant size. Not a negative thing: just order more than one item.
  
  We particularly enjoyed the breakfast sandwich, eggs, waffles, and expresso.
  
  Note for the restaurant: the grits weren’t fully cooked and the yogurt bowl could benefit from some crunch (e.g. granola, nuts, dried fruit). Otherwise the food was well executed.

  Tiny and unassuming cafe/wine bar with food that delivers amazing flavor and quality. Had low expectations rolling into town but this place surprised and delighted the two of us.
  
  Dirty chai was excellent.
  Chili crisp chicken sandwich was outstanding. (Would have liked a side to come with this sandwich but it was so good I didn’t mind)nEgg plate was delicious all around.
  
  If you’re passing by on the way home from skiing like we were, do yourself a favor and stop here for some tasty food!

  Easily the best restaurant in the St. J area, and definitely one of the best in the NEK. The vibes are immaculate, and the food is even better.
  
  I've been eating here regularly for over a year and have yet to have a meal that wasn't excellent. The menu changes with the seasons, features locally sourced ingredients, and always includes options for a variety of dietary needs. No matter what's on the menu, the flavors are consistently thoughtful and well-executed.
  
  One thing I especially appreciate is that breakfast, lunch, and dinner each have their own distinct menu. Lunch offers great sandwiches, chips, and plenty of sides, while breakfast has a wide range of options (yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, grits, etc.). If you're lucky enough to make it in for dinner, don't skip the burgers—they're some of the best I've had anywhere in recent memory.
  
  Great restaurants can be hard to find in a rural area, which makes The Buttery even more special. So grateful to have it here.

  Passed through town to charge the car and were treated to the most fabulous cuisine and atmosphere. Service was SO lovely and our server knew every single specialty ingredient for the charcuterie add-ons. The local products showcased at The Buttery were next level, I’d go back up to St. Johnsbury just to spend time here.
