★ 1The hostesses are so rude it’s no wonder the reviews are so bad at this place. Looked online around 4pm and saw endless available reservations for the entire evening — a weird thing for a restaurant on a Saturday but was good to know. Decided not to reserve as it didn’t seem like it was necessary as they were clearly NOT in high demand whatsoever, and their website also specifically notes that they take walk-ins. Showed up with my parents around 530pm and sure enough the restaurant and patio were 70% empty. My parents usually like to start with drinks and things to share and go from there.
When we walked up to the hostess stand the hostess with glasses immediately greeted us, not by smiling or saying hello, but by looking at the other hosts standing around and loudly saying “DO THEY HAVE A RESERVATION??” When we told her we did not and just wanted to have cocktails and appetizers on the patio, she couldn’t contain her excitement to tell us that tables were ONLY for reservations or people having dinner and that we could stand at the bar and order our own drinks and then carry them ourselves to the random Adirondack chairs on their front lawn. There were five of us all planning to have cocktails and appetizers, which surely would cost more than 2 people having dinner there at a table, but it’s very important to the hostess that she gets to tell people “no” even when there is literally nobody at your empty restaurant on a Saturday and there are no reservations coming. If that’s how you treat people who walk in, maybe change your policy and make reservations required, as you clearly DONT accept walk ins.
Beyond how bad the reviews are for the food, it completely makes sense why I never hear of anyone coming here for any reason. And it’s a shame because the bartenders were very nice and the drinks were decent, and we would have stayed and ordered a lot more if we had been made to feel welcomed. The bartenders and waitstaff should know that the hostesses are actively turning away business and leaving customers with a bad impression as well. I would never bring a group here again only because of the hostesses and their absolute lack of tact and hospitality. -

★ 4Called them same day and they were able to squeeze us in at 8:30 on Friday night. Nice, casual atmosphere overlooking the clam flats. Service was good and we enjoyed our dinner. The arugula salad with baked goat cheese was very good.

★ 2We were there with a group celebrating my parents' anniversary. Most of us left complaining about the food quality for the price. General concensus, the food was overcooked and dry, that includes the cake. Views are beautiful, maybe stop in for a drink on the deck, skip the food. You've been warned.

★ 4We have been here many times over the last few years for lunch and have always enjoyed the view (make sure to take a walk along the coast from the parking lot). Meals can be hit or miss but earlier this summer I really enjoyed the salmon rice bowl and spouse the grilled shrimp salad. Recently though the lobster roll didn't taste fresh and my coconut curry had a bitter taste rather than a sweet curry taste. It was also huge, it would be better to have a lunch portion at a reduced cost that the dinner size and cost. My daughter also said there was way too much cilantro (it was a green color?) and she couldn't have eaten it so if you are sensitive to cilantro this is not the meal for you. Other family enjoyed the fish tacos which they have ordered on several occasions. We always get an outside table booking the reservation online.

★ 2The Chart Room: A Feast for the Eyes, a Famine for the Taste BudsnnNestled along the picturesque coast, The Chart Room lures you in with its stunning ocean views and promises of a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, once you take a seat and crack open the menu, the magic starts to fade faster than a cheap summer tan.
Let's talk about the lobster bisque, a concoction that tastes like it was ladled straight from the mop bucket. Imagine dishwater with a hint of seafood regret. It's the kind of soup that makes you wonder if the chef accidentally dropped the lobster into the sink and decided to just roll with it.
The main courses were a journey through culinary mishaps. The chicken arrived looking like it had spent more time sunbathing than in the oven. One bite, and you might find yourself developing a newfound appreciation for fully cooked poultry. Salmonella roulette, anyone?
Then there was the pork shoulder, which must have taken a detour through the fiery depths of Mordor. Charred beyond recognition, it was a tragic tribute to what was once a piece of meat. If you like your pork with the texture of burnt offerings and the flavor profile of a campfire, this one's for you.
In the end, The Chart Room is a restaurant for those who value scenery over sustenance. Go for the view, stay for the laughs, but eat elsewhere unless you enjoy culinary disasters served with a side of disappointment. Bon appétit, or should I say, better luck next time!
