  This has been me and my friend's go-to breakfast spot ever since it used to be called The Egg & Us (different name now but same menu), and we get excited about it literally every time we come here. Incredible American and Mexican food, really affordable prices, and big portions! They do not skimp!! They have a huge menu, and they do breakfast all day, so there's something for everyone.
  
  The staff are always lovely and attentive too (the lady who usually takes our orders is so kind, we adore her), and every single time we've been here, we've been amazed at how quickly the food comes out. We love this place so much!! Comfort food at its finest ❤️nnP.S. The parking garage is free (since the restaurant is part of the Ballard Blocks) and has tons of spaces, and it's right next door. So convenient!
  
  P.P.S. Another reviewer said to try the flan, which is only $5, so we did, and it was absolutely wonderful! Creamy, rich, caramelized flavor. I believe it's a limited-time menu item. Highly recommend it :)

  I've come here twice now, and the food has been so delicious each time. Super easy parking situation. Everyone was so kind, and it doesn't take long to get your food. Loved the Elvis French Toast, haha. I definitely recommend The Block for a breakfast outing! :)

  Love this place! I eat breakfast here several times a week, and it never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel right at home—always friendly, attentive and genuinely happy to see you.
  
  The food is consistently incredible. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast or something a little more indulgent, everything is fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in both the quality of the ingredients and how everything is put together.
  
  I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself coming back to again and again.

  very confused how there's so many high ratings, there's no way this place deserves them. I had the french toast special which came with french toast, scrambled eggs, and sausage links. The eggs were overcooked and rubbery. The sausage links tasted and felt like they'd just been sitting under a heat lamp all day. and the French toast was flavorless and burned. it just tasted like burned bread. like someone had cooked it in old butter or something. Everything was so bland and bad. I'm not exaggerating when i say this was one of the most disappointing breakfast meals I'd ever had. I highly recommend avoiding this place if you've got any standards at all because you'd be better off just having toast at home. Based on that meal I'd never come back here. I'm very confused.

  Went to The Block Cafe @ Ballard for breakfast 🍳. It was formerly known as The Egg & Us but know it’s called The Block Cafe: still the same delicious menu!!! Anyways, still love this place!!! Always have best food quality and excellent customer service. Very cozy and very delicious 🤤! Highly recommended! Love love love it 😍
