The Big Bean in Newmarket is such a fun spot. The atmosphere is lively without feeling chaotic, and the staff is attentive and friendly from start to finish.

The menu has great offerings with something for everyone, and the flavors really deliver—everything we tried was fresh and delicious.

It’s also in a really cute area, which makes it a great place to stop whether you’re grabbing coffee or meeting up with friends.

The Big Bean was the perfect spot for a mother–daughter breakfast date! Cute, cozy dining in downtown. We ordered the Cayman Bene with sweet potato hash and the Spock—both absolutely delicious. The balance of fresh veggies and perfectly melted cheese was spot on, and the hint of chipotle in the hollandaise is truly a dream match made in heaven. Soooo good!

Service was great, and while there was a bit of a wait, it didn’t bother us at all. They text you when your table is ready, which gave us time to explore the local gift shops nearby. We couldn’t resist sharing a pancake (highly recommend!), and before leaving we grabbed one of their ginormous muffins to bring home for the family.

Fantastic food, thoughtful service, and a fun overall experience. We’ll definitely be back! 💛🥞☕️

Went on a Sunday at 10am. Wait time was 30 minutes. Sat and ordered at 1045am. Food arrived 1130. Food was good coffee was terrible. I liked the decor and vibe there though.

My friends and I were here on Friday and had a pretty poor experience. We were a walk-in asked for a table for 6, but only 4 of us ever showed up. At the end of our meal, we thought the prices were surprisingly high. We looked at the line item and we were given the auto 20% gratuity for a party of 6 or more, even though there were only 4 of us there. The orange juice that was very clearly a concentrate was charged at $7 per glass, and the table shakers are full of kitchen salt that is too big to fit through the shaker. I usually come here on my trips to visit home because the location is convenient and it’s a local business, but the auto gratuity we got was very shady. I can’t see myself ever coming back here.

The owner’s pithy responses to any negative reviews speak to his or her lack of professionalism. Rather than address the issues at hand, he or she would rather insult and deflect. It’s no wonder this place has degraded in quality over the years. Bring Jack back.

The extensive menu has a ton of things that sound delicious, and the location in downtown is quaint. The hash and the sauce that came on top of it were way too rich to finish, though, and I don't recommend sitting outside if you expect a lot of motorcycles to drive by.
