★ 4This is one of those nice chains that doesn't look or feel like a chain operation. Light, fluffy, fresh and very well-made croissants as well as other baked goods. Their coffee drinks are also excellent with yummy lattes and international caliber espresso.
Worth a visit if you are nearby although the lines can get a bit tedious during busy hours. All in all, nice to have such a nice quality café nearby. -

★ 4This Tatte location has a shorter menu than other Tatte cafés, and some dishes we wanted—like the Croque Madame and lamb shakshuka—weren’t available. We ordered the regular shakshuka and a breakfast croissant, but honestly the food tasted pretty average and felt a bit below the standard of other locations.
The black sesame latte was excellent, though. The café itself is relatively small. -

★ 5It was one of those cold, dreary Cambridge mornings, around 8 a.m., when the city feels quiet and slightly muted, wrapped in winter’s gray. I wasn’t planning on coffee at all—I already had my day mapped out—but as I walked past Tatte Bakery & Cafe, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm baked bread drifted out onto the sidewalk. That alone was enough to make me pause, turn around, and step inside. Sometimes travel moments choose you, not the other way around.
Inside, the bakery felt instantly comforting—warm lighting, rustic shelves lined with pastries, and a gentle morning hum of people easing into their day. I ordered a simple drip coffee, and it turned out to be anything but simple. The coffee was fresh, aromatic, and beautifully roasted, with a depth of flavor that made you slow down and actually enjoy each sip. I paired it with a blueberry muffin, and that sealed the experience—it was soft, moist, fresh, and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with bursts of blueberry in every bite. The combination of a great cup of coffee and an equally great muffin felt like the kind of small joy that sets the tone for an entire day.
It was the kind of stop that feels unplanned but unforgettable—a quiet, cozy pause in the middle of travel. I walked out warmer, happier, and genuinely glad I had followed my instincts. If I find myself back in Boston or Cambridge again, Tatte will absolutely be a place I return to—sometimes the best mornings start with an unexpected door you decide to walk through. ☕🥐 -

★ 5My coworker and I came 2 days in a row to this location because we loved the food so much! Their matcha and chai are great and I highly recommend their summer overnight oats. I wish I lived in Boston, but it's probably better that I don't because otherwise I'd visit there everyday!
