★ 5Delicious food! I love breakfast places with a Mexican or Latin flare, and this place certainly did not disappoint! The chorizo breakfast tacos were excellent. We also tried the waffles, which were good, but not something that stood out. Lots of other great looking food on the menu. Will definitely be back again sometime!

★ 5The word is getting out on Sunny Day Cafe, which honestly, I'm happy about. They deserve it. This is a great breakfast spot with authentic Mexican infused brunchy delights. If you are in the mood for bold flavors try the breakfast tacos, the chilaquiles, or even the carne asada skillet. Want something more traditional? They've got your back with fluffy pancakes and bacon. This place always seems to be busy now, but they get you in quickly and it's worth the wait. The coffee is strong, the wait staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is consistent, generously portioned, and always comes out hot and fresh. I hate to add to the hype because it just means more people will find this hole in the wall, but like I said, they deserve it and I'm happy to keep them going with more business.

★ 5FOODIE ALERT!!!!A quiet diner in Carmel that is definitely worth checking out! My wife had the breakfast tacos with chorizo and they were excellent. I had the Chilaquiles, and they were THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD! I also had a cappuccino which was quite delicious. The waitress and staff were very friendly, and attentive. The food came out quick and a perfect temperature. If you are looking for a good spot this is the one!

★ 3I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and my wife ordered the Sunny Day Omelette. Both were a little bit on the salty side. The chicken and gravy was good. I was surprised by the quantity of gravy (about 2.5 tablespoons). The waffles were a bit on the bland side and had a slight metallic taste. The biscuits were similar. The coffee was better than average. Service was mediocre. A wouldn’t say they were unfriendly, but I didn’t see anyone smile. The service was efficient. Overall above average experience, but I don’t think I will be back.
Update: Once we got the check, offers for refills stopped. -

★ 5The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The food came out hot and fresh!
The waffles were crispy and the chicken was moist. I love the variety of dips/sauces.
The breakfast tacos were good. The taco shells fell apart really easily, but the flavors were great!
