  We wanted to grab something for breakfast for the long drive home and chose this spot. It was too packed to sit down so we placed a to go order…the menu options were all amazing. I had a hard time deciding but we both got the pastrami egg sandwich with hollandaise…holy moly was it spectacular! Service was fast and friendly. Look cute inside too.

  My daughter wanted tomato soup and grilled cheese. Tomato soup Florentine was absolutely delicious as well as both of our grilled cheeses. Very dog friendly All the dogs came into visit for a treat and service was wonderful. We just was very nice and cheerful cute little spot to get something delicious to eat in Newport.

  Ok so this was quite literally incredible- i went here for lunch and i had a zoom meeting interview as well, the staff was so friendly from the moment i walked in the door, the food was seriously the best grilled cheese ive ever had (pepperoni pizza grilled cheese) and the staff even chatted with me and congratulated me on how well my interview went! Very kind atmosphere and seriously the best grilled cheese ive ever had i had to leave a review😅

  If you’ve not given yourself a treat by going to scratch for a bowl of their amazing chili, you need to go and you need to go now! That has got to be, hands-down, the best chili I’ve ever had in my entire life! The slow roasted seasoned braised beef, brisket, and Charisse combination is perfection! Just the right amount of heat, texture, and flavors in this yummy bowl of goodness!! Add some shredded cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream on top and you have a party in your mouth my friends!Staff there is super friendly and the vibe is very cool. Do yourselves a favor now, run, don’t walk don’t a scratch and have a bowl of their chili!

  I was chilling at my hotel, at which point, I got hungry for breakfast. My partner found this joint nearby and it looked to get great reviews so I decided to walk over.
  
  Came at around 9:15 AM on a Saturday and they weren’t too busy and had tables available. The layout of the joint threw me off at first as it looks like they are counter serve. But they actually do table service! My waitress was nice and attentive to my table.
  
  I got the Chicken & Waffles sandwich with a side of bacon as my meal. I was overall blown away! The waffles were toasted perfectly, the chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the bacon was crispy.
  
  Overall, Scratch Kitchen, a fantastic sandwich shop in Newport! If I’m back in town, I’ll easily come back!
