Came here after years of wanting to explore the history and building! Barbara is an AMAZING host, she truly makes it feel as if you are staying with a friend. The food is excellent and the history of the Inn is fascinating. We had the place to ourselves in a Thursday and it did not disappoint. We are already making plans to come back!

Horrible service! What could have been good money and tips since there were 15 of us, we ended leaving because a grown man (Server/employee) threw a fit like a 5 year old and accused our kids of chasing the ducks off the property. Would not even talk or make I contact with any of us. 1 and done!

We did not stay overnight, we ate lunch in the pub part of the inn. We have ate here a number of times over the years when we came to the area and I can say it has been consistently good food and service, but the prices are on the high side for pub food. The 7oz cheeseburger was 16.99 and came with a side of fries, multiply that times a few and it becomes a very expensive lunch rather quickly.

Food aside the atmosphere is old American which honors its history and heritage of colonial New England charm. The staff are very friendly and willing to go that extra mile so expect great service.

TLDR: good salad, server erratically switched up behavior seeing that her tip wasn’t as high as she wanted, ran after us and threw a checkbook after us angrily. Pay your employees well. People passing through the area shouldn’t be footing the employee pay, especially if they are on a tight budget themselves.

What could have been a wonderful experience ended up leaving us completely shocked as we were heading out the door. The sandwiches weren’t as great as we expected- Portabella mushroom and Steak and cheese sandwiches- but the Caesar salad was great! The history of the Inn and the dining environment was pleasant, server was nice during the meal. My husband paid a $52 bill and he left a few dollars and let the server know she can keep it. We had budgeted money for this day trip, and left a tip. I headed out and my husband was already out the door and the woman runs after me and chucks the chequebook on the parlor table as hard as she can and screams “Keep your stupid money I don’t need a tip that small!!”. I was shocked at how angry she was and just stood there. She stormed away into the other room. My husband was just as shocked and we both sat in the car feeling extremely unsettled. Yelling at a customer is one thing, but throwing a chequebook at them, screaming, is unprofessional and frankly not normal behavior. Do better.

Stopped for a bite to eat. The service was way better than any 4 star hotel. The history behind this location is very interesting makes me wanna come back and learn more. Sandwich was delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out. Thanks.
