★ 5This place has ALWAYS been here. I can remember my parents bringing me and my sister here for breakfast before school, and that was back in the early '70s. I went back recently, and the place hasn't changed too much, but the food was exceptional, just as I expected. If I lived closer, I'd go back more often!

★ 5Stopped in on Monday for corned beef and cabbage which was delicious so I ordered another togo and had it for supper on St Patrick's Day and as usual was delicious. It's too bad he is closing down. Restaurant will sadly be missed as well as his delicious cooking.

★ 5Classic hometown diner. Great specials. Look at those fish sandwiches in my photos.

★ 2This is likely my second review of Mac’s Soda Bar. I haven’t been here for a couple of years but I’ll tell you this place has really gone down hill.
We shared a Scallop and Clam dinner and each got a st■ quahog. The quahogs were huge, but lacking any clams. Really it just tasted like stuffing mix with clam juice. A real letdown because this place used to have awesome quahogs. Honestly, the restaurant was empty except for one other couple. Our food was overcooked and tasteless. The coleslaw wasn’t fresh, and the tartar sauce looked like it had been sitting around for a long time. If you tried to put your fork into a fried scallop, the coating would all fall off. This is not at all what I remember Mac’s Soda Bar to be like. I doubt I’ll go back. -

★ 5Wow! We were blown away by the food quality, especially at the price point. Had a breakfast that I would have expected to cost 2-3x as much. Serious quality and attention to detail. Thank you!
