My friends and I stopped by at this bakery while we were exploring Austin during my bestie’s bachelorette trip. It is such a cute place to stop by to sit and hang out. It is attached to this amazingly beautiful hotel and has all the beautiful vibes of it. I got a classic croissant which was buttery, flaky, and had a little sweetness on top which we all loved. A little extra salt would have been nice, but otherwise the texture and flavor were amazing. Next time I’ll make sure to get a picture of the pastries before they’re eaten! Such a fun little stop!

Pretty good breakfast options overall. They had a gluten free muffin which was nice. The Driskill breakfast was good but it seemed a little stingy on the scrambled eggs. We were told that some options were recently scaled down because of new ownership. For example, only whole milk (no skim or 2% for lattes). They also didn't have honey and didn't allow for regular coffee refills. Music was a bit loud in the cafe also but the decor was nice. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you're staying in the hotel it's a quick close option.

Amazing atmosphere. Such a sense of History in the hotel. The cafe has great brunch. I had the ladybird egg white omelette. It was so good. I ordered a to-go one to take home to my son. You have to go in and order at the counter and then you can pick where you want to sit, whether it's in the cafe itself or out in the lounge area of the hotel or on the patio. It was great fun

    A rare 5-star breakfast surprise!

This cafe sets the gold standard for what a hotel dining experience should be. We honestly just walked in not even knowing it was attached to the Driskill Hotel.

The attention to detail is remarkable and the quality is far above the usual 'vacation breakfast.'nnEasily the best culinary discovery of our US trip. If you are in Austin, do not skip this.

This charming and elegant brunch place is well worth a visit! Out of all the breakfast spots we went to on our trip, this was the best by far. We ordered the Texas waffle, huevos rancheros, and club sandwich. The portion sizes are perfect, and the flavors of the rancheros were fresh and amazing. We loved the waffles; they were cooked to perfection, and the vanilla cream paired perfectly. Overall, 1886 Cafe & Bakery is the perfect place to stop for a relaxing yet flavorful breakfast.

The service was also exceptional and would definitely come back soon.
