Stopped by for brunch. It was amazing! Great brunch. Definitely had their monster breakfast, and it had French toast. Overall great service. The food was amazing.

Only downside, just to tell folks, there's only two restrooms for everybody. Enjoy the food, wait in line if you need a restroom, but other than that I still give it five stars for just overall being great.

    Cute place!
    AMAZING FOOD!
Great service! (Basil was our waiter)nnMy wife and I split a 'Crispy Pimento Bowl' and a 'Gerti's Garden Salad.n______________nThe bowl was:
Buttermilk-brined, hand-breaded chicken, crispy smashed potatoes, red bell peppers, garlic spinach, onion, house pimento cheese, and house Calabrian hot honey sauce.

(The chicken and potatoes were perfectly cooked. The pimento cheese was more like a condiment or gravy rather than a scoopful - delicious effect! One of our best meals ever!)n______________nThe salad was:
Mixed greens, English cucumber, red onion, tomato, radish, and citrus vinaigrette. (We substituted homemade Ranch dressing and really enjoyed it AND the super fresh salad.)nnMUST TRY!

Hands down, the food is incredible! Both a mixture of Authentic and hipster new age. Their Homemade Corned Beef was to die for! The service was great, the atmosphere where I sat was nice but would be annoying with the noise if I had to sit in the middle. My biggest complaint would be the portions are way too small for the prices. $6 for a tall glass of milk? That's a bit much. Overall I definitely recommend but they do fill up fast so you have to get in before the rush!

My husband and I were in Portsmouth for the weekend for our friends wedding. We came across the Friendly Toast, the place was packed!! The very nice hostess and GM said it would be about 10 minutes to wait. Once seated our waitress Shannon was amazing!! The atmosphere is so fun with so much history behind everything inside. Shannon truly made the experience with her great, friendly personality! We gave great recommendations and helped us find a local shop we could walk to for water to bring back to our room! She was very personable! Highly recommend this place!! Will definitely go back again when in the area! :) The mimosa flight, coffee flight, chicken and waffles, as well as the biscuits and gravy were to die for!! We were full for hours! So so good!

We really enjoyed our visit. The food was very good, and they also have a kids’ menu, which was a big plus for us. We tried the chicken and waffles, pancakes with turkey sausage, and a chicken sandwich — everything tasted great. I also appreciated that they are nut-free, which made us feel comfortable. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and hardworking. Overall, a great place for families.
