Celebrated a birthday here with a party of 11. Carlos and Neide are such patient, attentive servers and ensured we had a special celebration! Everything came out promptly.

Had a weird interaction with the host upon entry who emphasized the table time limit, but thankfully we were not rushed through the actual dining experience.

Drinks were great (thanks Carlos for the Long Island!). Some appetizers were better than others (the Buffalo cauliflower is a must; calamari was solid. I’d pass on the eggplant fries). Entree was delicious but I wish there was a larger steak portion. Very accommodating of allergen needs.

Desserts were shared amongst the table - highly recommend the bread pudding!

If you’ve spent any time in Needham, you’ve probably heard someone say, “Let’s go to The Cottage in Wellesley”. And for good reason. The Cottage has become one of those dependable, always-a-good-choice spots that works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for dinner or drinks.

What I appreciate most is the balance. The space feels welcoming and lively without being overwhelming, whether you’re settling into the bar area for a relaxed meal or meeting friends for dinner. The bar itself is a real draw—comfortable, social, and a great place to linger. And if you’re hosting something more private, their private room is a wonderful option and often overlooked by people who haven’t been there before.

The menu is thoughtfully done and genuinely approachable. The sandwiches stand out right away—served on nicely thick, toasted bread that actually holds up to the fillings. They’re satisfying without feeling heavy, and you can easily make a meal your own by pairing a half sandwich with a salad or soup. It’s the kind of flexibility that makes lunch meetings and quick dinners feel easy instead of rushed.

What really makes The Cottage work, though, is that there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re craving a sandwich, a lighter option, or a more substantial dinner, the menu has range without trying too hard. It’s consistently good, familiar in the best way, and reliable—exactly what you want in a local favorite.

It’s no surprise this spot stays busy. The Cottage has earned its reputation as a go-to in Needham, and it’s one of those places I’m always happy to recommend—because I know it delivers, every time.

Amazing restaurant! The atmosphere was clean, modern, and yet comfortable, perfect for families or any guest. I ordered the lobster tacos, which were absolutely delicious, and my friends loved their dishes as well. I highly recommend this place!

DO NOT ORDER THE SALMON HERE. I would give 0 stars if possible. My family and I went out for a Sunday brunch and usually have never had any issues here which is why I was so upset at what occurred today. My mother ordered a salad and added salmon (which was an extra $17), when it came out the salmon was completely raw, not a single part of it was remotely edible. We gave it back to the kitchen and then not only did they take obscenely long to re cook and return the meal but they then had the audacity to still make us pay the extra $17 for the salmon. In any other respectable restaurant I have been to, they would usually comp the meal since they messed up. I would highly suggest ordering salmon elsewhere.

Came for lunch. Ordered three - four dishes. So much fried food here - from appetizers to entrees and sides, almost everything was fried or greasy. Taste wasn’t either bad or good. I would still come back to try their brunch!
