I had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Delicious. My son had the Whiskey Onion Smash Burger and it was so good. The service was great. It was a lovely experience with great service. I didn't get servers name but he is going to New Orleans for Halloween. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

Listen, I've eaten at a lot of places and Tupelo Honey is the real deal. The shrimp and grits came out in a cast iron skillet and meant business — fresh shrimp, rich savory gravy, grits cooked exactly how they should be. No shortcuts, no compromises. This is Southern cooking done with intention.

Special shoutout to Kyle at the bar who set the tone from the jump — smooth, personable and clearly knows his craft. And to Josh the manager, you can tell the culture of a restaurant by how management carries themselves on the floor. Josh has it right. That kind of leadership shows up in every interaction your staff has with guests.

Whether you're rolling in solo or bringing the whole family the vibe accommodates both without missing a beat. At 41 I know the difference between a restaurant that's trying and one that actually knows what it's doing. Tupelo Honey knows what it's doing. Get the shrimp and grits. Thank me later.

The food itself was very good. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared, and flavorful, and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing.

What is disappointing is that Tupelo Honey has removed the collard greens from the menu. For a Southern restaurant, that is not a small change. The greens were a staple and one of the main reasons we came here. They were part of what made this place feel authentic and different from every other restaurant.

When you remove core Southern sides like that, you strip away part of the restaurant’s identity. Plenty of places can serve good food, but very few get the Southern classics right. That is what Tupelo Honey was known for, and without the greens, it loses a big part of what made it special.

The food is still good, but the experience is no longer what it used to be, and it makes the restaurant far less appealing than it once was.

Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is a delightful gem that brings the heart and soul of Southern cuisine to Omaha! The warm, welcoming atmosphere perfectly complements the delicious dishes you'll find on the menu.

The selection of Southern-inspired fare is extensive and beautifully executed. I highly recommend the fried chicken—it’s perfectly crispy and incredibly flavorful, served with delightful sides like mashed potatoes and collard greens. The shrimp and grits are another outstanding choice, combining rich flavors that transport you straight to the South.

The drink menu features a fantastic array of craft cocktails and a solid selection of wines. The peach bourbon smash is especially refreshing and pairs well with the savory dishes.

Service at Tupelo Honey is attentive and friendly, with staff who are genuinely enthusiastic about the menu and happy to make recommendations. The restaurant often has live music and a lively atmosphere, adding to the overall experience.

If you’re in Omaha, make sure to visit Tupelo Honey for a taste of Southern hospitality and incredible comfort food—you won’t be disappointed!

Tupelo Honey is a must-visit for the food and aesthetic. I loved the clean, open space with plants everywhere and the cutest wallpaper.

I had the sweet and spicy bone-in fried chicken, and it was messy but delicious—the kind of messy that means you’re doing it right. The honey flavor really came through, and I just wish they offered wet wipes or extra napkins at the table because you’re gonna need them!

I chose rosemary parmesan crispy potatoes, but I ended up trading for my partner’s regular fries, which were surprisingly incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and way better than your average side of fries. Idk what they did to them, but I'll be back just for these. 😅nnMy partner got the fried chicken sandwich, stacked high with pickles (which he loved). We also tried the Biscuits for a Cause—crumbly, nostalgic, and just like the baking powder biscuits my Southern great-grandma used to make. Served with butter and a blueberry compote that had whole berries, but honestly, we kept going back to the honey at the table—it was that good.

The sweet tea was just right—so sweet I could only handle one glass of it. Not watered down at all.

All in all, great food, lovely vibes, and true Southern flavor.
