Fred‘s is an amazing place. We went there first time today for breakfast after hitting Eastern Market. Were lucky to get a table with no wait. The service folks were very friendly and supportive. But most importantly - all the food we had was delicious! We had different kinds of sourdough breads, an açaí bowl and smoothies, all simple but creative, nicely seasoned and presented. Definitely will come back!

I absolutely love Fred’s! It’s my go-to spot every week—whether I’m meeting friends for brunch on the weekends or getting some work done during the week. The market breakfast plate, breakfast burrito bowl, and protein shake are my favorites and never disappoint.

Fred himself is incredible—truly one of the best business owners around. He’s so involved and genuinely cares about providing a great experience for his customers. The entire staff is always kind and welcoming, which makes such a difference.

I also love the little details, like the fresh flower arrangements and the constant addition of new menu items. It always feels fresh and thoughtfully curated.

10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a great spot in Detroit!

Such a cute place! I got the Nova Toast and it was soo good. Scooter was the sweetest, super friendly and gave us the best drink recs. We tried the iced salted brown butter latte and raspberry matcha w strawberry cheesecake cold foam so now I have to go back and try more! 🤍

    Go eat at Fred’s!!

We were blown away by this new breakfast/lunch gem in Detroit. Fred’s is located a few blocks from the heart of the Eastern Market. This intimate atmosphere allows the chefs to focus on every dish. The food was served quickly, and truly tasted amazing. We ate the egg sandwich which is served on Zingerman’s challah roll and the ricotta toast. Both tasted very fresh. Next time you are near Eastern Market you gotta check it out!

Crispy Brussel sprouts are to die for! Excellent side dish. We also had the breakfast burrito, very nice, and had the ricotta toast, was okay.
Staff are nice and friendly and nice atmosphere. Would visit again and would recommend, especially for the crispy brussel sprouts!
