The city of Portland should pay this place for running such an iconic dive bar restaurant. You are a tourist or a local out for a night of drinking or a concert and this place always has your back with drinks and great diner food. The place is clean and well run even though it is also supposed to look old and cluttered and funky. Don't come here expecting to feel like the main character, because you are not. Expect competent but brusk service because that is the brand. That is what you are here for.

They serve great breakfasts and sandwiches. The bacon is EXCEPTIONAL. It's super delicious and very thick but not overcooked or undercooked and not too salty. Get it with a breakfast, or order it as a side, or get a BLT or get what I got which is their very popular club sandwich. There was a lot going on in the club sandwich but the amazing bacon still stood out and was ample. Get some bacon!

There are three big rooms so you can choose your own adventure. On the far right is the most quiet and diner-like. A little more bar action in the center, and a game room on the far left.

I actually went for lunch and it was quiet and sedate over on the right hand room. It wasn't a bar scene. I really enjoyed my sandwich!

UPDATE: Now I have sort of found my favorite French dip in Portland!

Nice cozy place where you can eat until 2:30 am, which provides a great flexibility. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. The menu has a comprehensive set of options and there is plenty to choose from. Loved the fish and chips and the Portugese soup. Chicken wraps were also very tasty. The Halloween decorations were pretty impressive, and clearly showed the amount of effort put in. Great job! I recommend this eatery and plan to revisit.

What a fun little treasue in inner SE PDX. The atmosphere was fun and the food was GREAT. I had a lettuce wrapped bacon burger with sauteed mushrooms. One of the BEST burgers I have had in a long time. The service was stellar...they kept my coffee cup full. I definately will be back.

Area surrounding is a little sketchy, but I will be back. Our server was extremely friendly and made sure to check on us, and the place had a fun vibe. Beer and cocktails were delicious, and everything was cheap! Good amount of food for the price. Unfortunately, my mashed potatoes were cold...
