★ 5One of the best cafes in Boston: Ula offers everything one looks for in a good cafe. Excellent atmosphere, ample seating (including outdoors), a wonderful staff that makes you happy you choose to go there, a public bathroom that is free to use, local art, and most importantly- GREAT coffee.
Their pastries are also excellent and you cannot go wrong with their food. Very healthy options available. Good for vegetarians and vegans. Locally sourced ingredients, beans, and they have a lot of flyers and papers about local goings-ons.
I highly recommend their Lavender Earl Grey Scone and, as an iced coffee lover, can say theirs is in my top 3 for Boston. Go! -

★ 2good potential but every time I've walked in here the person at the counter treats me like I'm inconveniencing them. Also, it's really expensive. Unfortunately, today was my last attempt at trying to enjoy the neighborhood coffee shop. I gave a star for the kitchen staff as the food has been pretty solid and every time they bring it out they seem friendly. 6/3/26 10:45

★ 5I make a trip to Boston once or twice a year and I always go to Jamaica Plain and hit Ula Cafe for breakfast and or lunch. The staff is always cheery and welcoming. The cafe is black owned, locally owned and woman owned and very community driven. The food is always delicious and fresh and the iced matcha is delicious.

★ 5Nice little place. Turkey club was good.
My 'friend' got the Vegan roasted veggie sandwich (pictured) which she she said was good. Food seemed really healthy so that's a big plus.n2 sandwiches a bag of chips and a bottle of coke for $30... sadly pretty close to normal these days but still seemed steep. Over $3 for a soda and over $3 for a small bag of chips.
Seating is uncomfortable. Was pretty loud inside...
Didn't love it but it's not my normal scene. I could see lots of people loving the place though.
All that said it's a pretty nice place with a fairly small menu which indicates to me they can keep the food fresh. They have tons of options for drinks but that wasn't why we went there so don't know how good they are but I assume they are good.
They have both vegetarian and vegan options so that's a plus. -

★ 5When you think of a neighborhood, community-oriented cafe, this is the shining example.
Ula Cafe has lots of seating, homey art and pictures lining brick walls, and a vibe that is so comfy and lovely. Not to mention the scones which are just as good if not better than the other reviews claim! I’ve had lots of earl grey scones, but none as flavorful as this one, I could actually taste the tea and lavender strongly! The coffee was also great, at reasonable prices too.
If you want a good place to study, do work, and have a phenomenal scone, Ula is the spot!
