★ 5There’s just something about this place! It’s warm, inviting, welcoming, and a little nostalgic. It’s “my” local Irish pub.
From the moment you walk in, this place slaps. I first came a few years ago and, honestly, the food was just okay. I had the scotch egg that didn’t land, but credit where it’s due, the bartender took it off the bill. So I did what any seasoned regular would do: I came back.
And I’m glad I did, because every visit since, the place just keeps getting better.
One trip, the bartender was as local and genuine as it gets, chatting us up, telling old school haverhill stories, making the whole place feel like home.
Another time, someone walked in with “2” and “1” balloons, and I couldn’t help myself—“You guys celebrating a 12-year-old?” The whole bar cracked up. That’s the kind of place this is.
Then came the food comeback tour. The burger? Massive—and absolutely nails it. The fries? Spot on. And they pour Smithwick’s, which you just don’t see around much.
Went back again and had the fish & chips—easily the best I’ve had in years. Crispy, clean, no nonsense.
Now I’m sitting here on a half-price wing night, working through a killer turkey Rachel, listening to the staff’s distinct Irish accents, and watching what I’m pretty sure is the owner holding court at the end of the bar with friends. It just feels right.
The Guinness is poured properly, the Jameson pours are generous, and the vibe is exactly what you want it to be.
You’re here for the atmosphere, the people, the stories, and the great food. And on all counts, this place delivers.
Best part? It’s in my backyard. No need to head into Boston.
If you’re within 100 miles, make the trip. Park a little ways away, take the walk, and enjoy finding it.
Just the best. -

★ 5The real McCoy, an Irish pub in Haverhill, MA. When traveling from Manchester, NH to Providence, RI, we detoured to see the castle and have a late lunch. I greatly enjoyed a corned beef sandwich and hand-cut fries. My wife ordered the cottage pie that was off the charts delicious. Then, after lunch, visted the Winged Rabbit Gallery next door.

★ 4Great little bar! I didn't get to see all of this place, because they we soo crowded. We sat at the bar. Seating at booths in the bar area. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. Great menu. The drinks were nice, the food was wonderful. Definitely need to see this place while here.

★ 5I could not recommend this place more. If you ask me where I’d go in Haverhill, Peds is always top of the list. Beautiful pub, warm atmosphere, great music, and the best people working there. The menu is amazing and the food is delicious. The house made ketchup and sodas are perfect, the curry mayo is very tasty. Great Irish food and the best place to get a burger when you feel like you want “a good burger”. I don’t drink so I can’t speak to their bar but the food is so good I’ll always be back. The regulars at the bar seem like they feel at home.

★ 5A truly lovely place to sit down for some food and a pint! I usually order the Irish dishes while friends order their burgers. All of the food we’ve had has been excellent. Staff couldn’t be better. Live music on the weekends as well.
