  National Exemplar never disappoints! Stopped in on a Saturday night and started with a drink at Sotherby’s - the vibe is always perfectly cozy and welcoming. Once our table was ready, we were lucky to have Mary as our server. She was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive from start to finish. She recommended the pot roast (which was on special), and even had it split three ways for our table since we all wanted to try it, such a thoughtful touch!
  
  We also shared the dates and mussels as appetizers, both were outstanding. And the chocolate cake with olive oil and sea salt for dessert was absolutely divine!
  
  Always will recommend this place, one of my favorite neighborhood gems!

  Very good restaurant with beautifully traditional decor. The seafood linguine is really good and so is the hungarian mushroom soup. The staff are very polite and attentive to customers, they bring complementary bread before the meal. The prices are reasonable, for the most part. I went to the National Exemplar for New Years Eve and it was a great experience.

  Food was phenomenal and Staff was excellent. The waitress recommended their Pot Roast and IT DID NOT FAIL!

  Our server was doing all she could, but she had a lot of tables. The wedge salad was good - s믭 the lemon vinaigrette dressing. And we enjoyed the sliders.

  What an excellent restaurant. The service is top notch, the food outstanding.
  I had dinner and breakfast there and both the evening and morning staff were amazing!
  The prime rib was good, and the breakfast burrito excellent. The Hungarian mushroom soup fantastic.
