I took my mother here to get some desert for her birthday this month and it was another horrible experience. The coconut cake was frozen. They didn’t even slice off a fresh piece from the cake on display like a normal bakery would do. My mom also purchased a morning glory muffin and it was all burnt under the wrapper on the bottom and instead of being able to break it apart from being soft this muffin was like a brick.

I spoke to the staff and they were not very helpful and basically told us to get lost.

Also the ceiling in the eating area had many flooded stains in the ceiling and the bathroom was not clean.

Needless to say I won’t be going there again. I agree with all the recent reviews that this great previous restaurant has met its demise.

We have been long time standing customers, but since the new ownership the place is intolerable!

Here is a sample of a local muffin near my home and the muffin from Black Forest cafe. The difference is mind blowing. You can get a better desert at the grocery store.

    Cheesecake knocked my socks off.
We’ve been getting the coconut cake here for years. Everyone in our family asks for it for their birthday. But I tried the cheesecake today, it was fantastic! Long line, but moved fast and the workers were kind.

I have been a Black Forest customer for many years and the place continues to go downhill. Checkout the disgrace of a pumpkin pie that we pre-ordered for Thanksgiving this year and waited over an hour to receive in line! My 6 year old has made better looking pies. On top of looking like an art project gone bad, the inside tasted like watery canned pumpkin and the crust was chewy.

On our first attempt to pick up the pie, I arrived planning to go right to the quick pick-up line like they had last year. Not anymore! After waiting 10 minutes and barely moving, I asked a customer leaving with his pie, and he said he waited in line for an hour just to pick up a pre-ordered pie. Another lady was waiting for her cake to be frosted over 45 minutes past her pickup time! After waiting 25 minutes and still barely making progress, we had to leave. Other customers were doing the same. My dad had to come back later and also had to wait to finally get the prepaid pie. We were appalled to see it when we opened it Thanksgiving day!

The Black Forest has lost my extended family as customers and I encourage others to think twice before going back. They used to have great service, stay open later, and serve dinner with actual waitstaff, instead of their newer order and get quasi-service model.

Hello, met a friend for lunch today. The service was good, although them seem to expect you to know what you want right away. If you've never been before, you do need to look at the offerings before you order. We both got the chicken wrap. I think for the money it should at least come with chips. Those are separate. It was decent but not anything special. I got Vanilla Chai Latte and it was good, again, nothing to write home about. We sat outside, it was a nice day to munch on sandwiches. My friend got a couple of cookies and I got a pastry and a cronut to take home to my son. They were very flaky but again, a little disappointing. For the latte, the wrap and two danish type small desserts, it was a little over 30.00. I think that's quite a bit for lunch. I know it's a small busines but I don't feel the urge to go back.

Came in today on short notice for a six-hour work meeting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our group of roughly 30 people.

I powered through at least half a gallon of coffee, an embarrassing number of delicious pastries and cookies, and an excellent Reuben sandwich. No regrets.

I’ll absolutely be back - those chicken pies in the display case have my name on them.
