★ 1On Sunday, 6/8/26 I went to the Falmouth Cafe with my family. My daughter in law ordered 3 adult sandwiches and 2 kids meals. The Cafe was very busy and we had to wait outside for our meal to be completed. We waited, and waited, not thinking too much about the time as it was very busy. As time went on (now about 45 min. And after we inquired about our Meal, a manager came to our table and apologized for the delay claiming the new help was in training and assured us that our meal would be out shortly. About 30 min. Later, a waitress came out and retook our order again assuring us that our order would be out shortly. Once again my son went inside to inquire about our order and was told by a gentleman (chef or manager) that he wasn’t going to make it as the order was taken after they closed the kitchen.
I understand this may be hard to believe, but I swear this is how it happened to the best of my recollection. After all was said and done and my daughter in law insisted on a credit to her card, this same man tried to give her one on the computer but was unable to do it (didn’t know how?).. She was finally given back cash and we left after an hour and a half ordeal. Never again. -

★ 1They are not ready for summer. We ordered at 1050AM and no update for an hour. We asked for a refund at 12:00 and nobody knew how to process it. They had a line cook had to leave station to come process the refund which just backed up everyone else's orders. On top of it the cooks were moving like molasses as if nobody had ordered. We left finally at 1220. 20 minutes to process a refund. Multiple people were also trying to get refunds. Mind it was three of us and we only ordered 3 breakfast burritos. If you want to waste a beautiful Sunday morning hungry by all means enjoy the Blackdog Cafe. Never again.

★ 5There’s something magical about your first breakfast in a new place, especially when it comes wrapped in salty Cape Cod air, sun-streaked skies, and a bagel piled high with smoked salmon and herbed cream cheese. That was our experience at The Black Dog Heights Café in Falmouth a coastal gem that greeted us with hearty food and classic New England charm.
The building itself feels like a postcard: gray shingle siding, an American flag swaying gently, and that iconic black lab perched up high like it’s guarding the soul of the Cape. Outside seating under bright red umbrellas kept things breezy and casual while we soaked up the sunshine and the vacation vibes.
As for the food? Let’s just say the Black Dog doesn’t play around. I went straight for the Lox bagel tangy, creamy, fresh, and generous enough to require a two-hand strategy. Across the table, the breakfast burrito came packed with eggs, sausage, black beans, corn, and melty cheese in every bite equal parts flavor bomb and wake-up call.
The crowd was relaxed, the staff kind, and the vibe effortless. No pretension, just solid coastal breakfast done right.
There’s a reason the Black Dog name is legendary out here, and now I get it. If you’re starting your day in Falmouth, this is where you want to do it.

★ 3I always give the benefit of the doubt but was truly disappointed to witness the cook screaming at the lovely girls at the counter. We saw at least 5 orders that were wrong (7 if you include my party). The girls in the front should not have to apologize for a jerk that doesn’t know how to behave.

★ 4Decent place to grab a bite before taking the island queen ferry.
However, it’s a little on the expensive side in terms or taste or portion size, we tried avocado toast which had pesto on it - pesto over powers any taste and it’s the last thing you need on an avasadi toast, couldn’t taste a thing !
Tried the build your egg bowl - decent and lots of option to customize, but it wasn’t worth $10+.
Folks were nice and place was charming .
