Our return visit for a much anticipated dinner featuring their much acclaimed Bolognese Pappardelle pasta dish. A huge disappointment since the Pappardelle pasta was substituted with Malfadine pasta. It made the dish heavier due to the meat sauce, which btw was excellentnAlso since no bread basket was offered-at our table, our server Jesse, who was awesome suggested we get the French W appetizer, which we did.
Although the toasted bread was delicious, it was actually Ciabatta sliced bread served with whipped butter and EVOO also extremely delicious.

Unfortunately ‘Truth in Dining’ is important to us.

We still recommend this establishment but would strongly urge management to address these couple of issues.

    A really nice restaurant!

We were drawn to the barn kitchen and bar because it had clearly marked gluten-free entrees and as well appeared to be high quality restaurant. The wait staff were very familiar with gluten-free needs and they also had an allergist food sensitivity specialist on staff that talked to us. The food came out as quickly as we needed. I had the parsnip soup as an appetizer and my wife had the arugula salad. Both were very tasty and fresh. For entrees I had the coconut vegetable curry stew. My wife had the Alfredo shrimp with gluten-free pasta. She claims it was some of the best pasta that was gluten free. Both had exquisitely good sauces and we're very tasty. They had a very good gluten-free brownie with ice cream for dessert. We should mention that the host was also accommodating and concerned about all of our needs and pleasantries. Lastly they're negroni is good if you like a sweet negroni.

Our experience started off somewhat unpleasantly due to the inexperience and ungraciousness of the hostess. However, the other staff and the fantastic food turned it around for us quickly. They made us feel very welcome.

We ended up having a very memorable dinner. Started with an appetizer on the specials list - vegan Mushroom and cashew paté. One of the best appetizers we've ever had and we eat our a lot. Then we had the pork chop and duck leg confit for our mains. Both were excellent. Accompanied by a reasonably priced bottle of Spanish red.

After reviewing the menu we decided Brunch was the way to go. We split the Crab Cake as an appetizer which was incredibly delicious. It came with a grilled asparagus and a spicy aïoli. Fantastic! Then we each had a Burger, and I had Truffle fries. The service was great. Our cushioned seats were great, by the windows.

Another bad experience at the barn-- 3rd time I ordered something and the plate was filled to the brim with butter/oil. I ordered the salmon last night and I was automatically disappointed with the very small portion size. I was given a small piece of salmon with two broccoli florets on a bed of risotto. The risotto was so, so oily to say the least and when I mentioned it to the waitress I wasn't given an option to take it back or offered a discount for the unpleasant meal. Similar experience when I ordered their simple scrambled eggs with toast and potatoes (loaded with butter) and not offered anything for the inconvenience. I asked for a separate plate so I could quite literally pour the oil from my bowl and avoid eating it. Paying $29 plus tax and tip for such a mid meal is so disappointing. And lastly, as you can see from the photos, the leftover oil on the table from the bowl just to give an idea.
