I ordered the ribs off the weekend special menu, looked like some kind of Korean fusion thing. And honestly? It looked the part, but that's where it stopped. The taste was a whole different story.
The mint in the vegetables was so overpowering that it completely drowned out everything else on the plate. And the meat,,,way too fatty. I get it, it's ribs, but they just didn't cook it right. When you cook the fat properly, it gets all rich and delicious. This was just mushy and soggy. Especially with that kind of marinade, you have to get a good sear on it. They totally missed the mark. Such a letdown.
It honestly felt like whoever put this menu together just tossed Korean food into the 'worst' category without actually knowing anything about it,,,, like they just didn't care. No respect for the cuisine, no effort in the execution. Really disappointing.

Oh, and the tables by the window facing the street? Absolutely filthy. So much dust just sitting there. I've been to plenty of places with a full serving staff, and I honestly can't remember the last time I saw tables that dusty. Kind of shocking, honestly.

And to top it all off, we got there around 4:10 and placed our order, but the pizza still hadn't shown up by 5. We literally sat there waiting for almost an hour. The server told us the oven was still preheating since they had just opened. But literally right before that, we literally saw that guy, some old dude with slicked-back white hair, walk out and hand a pizza straight to a group of construction workers on the street. And that pizza? Looked exactly like the margherita we ordered. The excuse made zero sense. We just looked at each other like, are you serious right now? We ended up just canceling the order. Absolutely not worth the wait.

Brunched at Sonsie on a Sunday and were seated right away—huge plus. Food was hit or miss: breakfast sandwich was just okay (bun too soft), but the potatoes were great. Salmon plate was a bit light on the bagel, though the vinaigrette on the greens was delicious.

French toast was the standout—crispy, not overly sweet, and the whipped cream was perfect.

Coffee was mediocre. Vibe is casual chic, great for any occasion. Loved the open seating for people-watching and soaking up the sun.

The first thing I look for in any restaurant is if they bring you water when you sit, and here not only do they do that, but they leave a jug and our waitress would always come back to refill our glasses before we even got to it.

We went when it wasn't packed so it was ready to get a seat not we have been there when it is busy and we have had to wait long.

The food is always amazing. I got the steak which was perfectly cooked medium as i asked, my mother got the shrimp scampi which had fresh shrimp that tasted great and my wife got a salad with grilled shrimp that were also amazing.

It is pricey, as most good restaurants are these days, but I was upset that we got the dip that only had two large chips which were barely enough and then they asked us if we wanted more and warned us that it was 2 dollars, for 2 chips?!? They could just raise the price and bring you chips when ever you need more. That is the only reason that this is not 5 stars for me. I will go back but they really need to rethink their pricing.

Okay hear me out I really wanted to like this place. And granted I definitely ordered the wrong thing so I’m sure if I ordered something else my score of sonsie would have been higher. Unfortunately I accidentally ordered the scariest meal I’ve ever received . I ordered their mortadella pistachio pesto pizza. Sounds yummy in theory, and actually the flavor wasn’t bad at all, however… WHY did it come with 10 slices of mortadella bologna on it. If it was small chopped up pieces I wouldn’t have said a word. I don’t like leaving reviews like this because our server was great and liked the atmosphere of the restaurant in there and will have to go back to try something else, but if you don’t like bologna pizza… idk who would. Don’t order this menu item lol. I need to go back and try a pepperoni pizza next time lmao.

Just had an incredible experience at Sonsie! Their secret menu chicken parm over spicy vodka pasta is unreal — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and indulgent. The cocktails and oysters are just as impressive, and the dessert finale, especially the chocolate bread pudding, is the perfect sweet ending.

The staff was attentive and friendly, making the whole meal feel extra special. Definitely a hidden gem in Back Bay — every bite feels like a local secret. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu!
