Food - everything was made from scratch, even the bread. The potatoes are fresh... not a frozen bagged tater thrown in the fryer. The Hollandaise sauce was absolutely delicious... Just enough lemony goodness to cut the richness of the sauce over the homemade English muffin and the perfectly poached egg yolk. I personally love that the menu is small.... It likely means they are focusing on quality and ensuring fresh ingredients. I always get nervous about how fresh the ingredients might be when I see a really big menu with a ton different ingredients.

Vegetarian - I did not try any of the veggie dishes yet but they definitely made it clear they can adjust dishes to make them vegetarian.

Service - The staff are friendly and on top of everything. The restaurant is new so they are definitely asking people for feedback and taking it on board. Which is super awesome.

Atmosphere - it was nice and cool on a hot morning. They also keep the music at a reasonable level so that you don't have to yell for someone to hear you across the table. :-PnnHad dinner here the other night too, but forgot to take pictures. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to go again. Oh and the portions at breakfast were solid. I ended up taking home half my breakfast...bonus!

Wow, what a much needed addition to the Richmond food scene! I just popped into Schaefer's for lunch and was entirely pleased by the experience. The atmosphere was cool and relaxing, providing some respite on this scorching spring day. Frank Sinatra serenaded us through the sound system. I enjoyed a perfectly balanced and refreshing mocktail while waiting (not long) for my lunch. I chose the BLT, which was impeccably crafted. Fresh, juicy tomato paired with crisp lettuce. Thick cut bacon was that perfect balanced texture between crispy and chewy. All piled between freshly baked and griddled bread. The fresh cut fries on the side were just absolutely perfect.

Though the menu is still on the smaller side, it's clear that they are focusing on quality over quantity of options to start out. I am excited to watch as they grow and diversify over time. If they can keep making food this delicious, they will quickly become a staple in this town.

    Thanks Schaefer's!

We have been in for breakfast and lunch and the food was delicious. Eggs Benedict was very good. And the veggie scramble was also tasty. The chicken sandwich for lunch is great and the fries were delicious.

Incredible food. Richmond has been in need of some classic diner food and this place goes above and beyond. Everything is made in house and it’s all delicious.
