★ 5If you’re looking for one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in Biddeford, Maine, you absolutely need to check out Palace Diner!
This iconic little diner is set up inside a vintage trailer/box car style building right in the heart of downtown Biddeford. Seating is limited to about a dozen people at a time, so be prepared to wait — but trust me, it’s worth it.
After my fiancée watched an episode of Somebody Feed Phil featuring the diner, we were on a mission to try their famous chicken sandwich. The sandwich absolutely lived up to the hype! It’s huge, packed with flavor, and served with a fresh lettuce wedge salad on the side. The chicken had the perfect crispy exterior while staying juicy and delicious inside. We could only eat half and happily brought the rest home.
Luckily, it was a beautiful Maine day and we didn’t have to wait long for a seat. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and added to the fantastic overall vibe of the diner.
One thing to know before you go — the diner is cash only, but there’s an ATM conveniently located right outside.
If you love hidden gems, amazing comfort food, and unique local dining experiences, Palace Diner is definitely a must-visit spot in southern Maine. Highly recommended and absolutely worth the trip back! -

★ 5We were recommended to come here en route from Boothbay Harbor to Falmouth, MA and so glad we stopped by. Really authentic 15 seat diner. I had the breakfast sandwich with the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had and my wife had the flapjacks which were massive. Biddeford, MA is a really cute town as well. Need to come back!

★ 5Best breakfast! Shared a few things; egg plate - got scrambled eggs…they were like cacio e pepe in egg form! A bit of cheese and pepper mixed in - they were incredible (best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had) came with large crispy potatoes and toast. Ask for blueberry jam for the toast! Also had the brown butter banana bread - came with a little salt sprinkled on top…Phenomenal. And a single pancake which was fluffy and delicious. Everything was amazing and the service was lovely. About a 20 minute wait on a late Friday morning and completely worth it! Only bar seating but people moved quickly and loved the authentic vintage diner feel. It was also extremely clean and organized for such a small space. 100% recommend!

★ 5Phil Rosenthal mentions this hidden gem any and every chance he gets and there’s a reason. The heightened simplicity has me marveled over the greatness. Not a single dish falters. Service is consistently excellent. I drive from Boston for these pancakes because these are THE BEST PANCAKES IN THE WORLD.

★ 5We are on a trip that started in Stowe, Vermont and ending in Portland, Maine. After over a week of eating at different places, I can confidently say this is the best food we have had all trip by a long shot! The service was at the same level. If I am ever again within a couple hours from here, I am making the detour 🤣 I am still fantasizing about our breakfast. I still can't decide which I like more, the lumberjack breakfast or the chicken sandwich. I recommend getting both 👌
