Had a work meeting here today. Currently pouring rain out. So combine the two and you get the perfect night to go to the restaurant in the hotel to order food and just bring it back to the room.

Thank goodness work pays for meals when we travel because I am a bit disappointed here. This is bruschetta and American chop Suey….Umm, what? It’ll do if you are a guy that does trades work but if not and you are paying for this, you’re gonna be disappointed. These two items were $31 plus I tipped $9 to round it off to $40. Again glad work pays for meals because I wouldn’t have payed that much if I got it at any other place.

Honestly was not the best experience, we had to wait an hour+ for a food which wasn’t even that good. The fries and potato skins were good not so much the wings. I also feel like they had no idea where food was supposed to go and messed up a lot. I also understand it was a bit busy but they did not check on my table once after we got our food and we have to ask for refills or just do it ourself from the bar. Definitely not recommend.

What a hidden treasure! Attached to the Best Western, you'd have no idea how quaint the atmosphere or how incredible the food! The restaurant offers tables and booths with warm lighting and cozy decor. Great, timely service. And what a menu! The choices are varied, creative and affordable. Every single item we ordered over 2 days with four people was out of this world! Professionally prepared and plated! We had all the choices of Waterville available and found ourselves choosing to return. Just wow...

The best Irish fare around! Fish and Chips are fresh and crispy, the Shepherd's pie is full of lamb and root veggies and the Guinness Pie was out of this world!!

I stayed at the Best Western in Waterville for 7 days and ate here three times and each time I had a great meal and wonderful service.

The interior of this place is really neat if you like old wood. Most of the wood was reclaimed from old sailing ship, which you could see by the mortise and tenon joints that were visible throughout the restaurant. The pub/bar area is rich dark wood and is not that lit, but that is fine with me.

Not a bad beer selection and they did have one IPA that was not bad.

Food was great. I had their philly flatbed that was really tasty one night, then I tried their beef and Guinness that was rich and flavorful. The last night I was there was their wing night and they do make some great wings. The wing night in Thursday and it was a bit crowded that night, but the rest of the nights it had people in there, but not packed like it is on wing night.

Also they provided the breakfast in the morning where you can chose from a couple of options (like coffee and juice along with two eggs, choice of meats and toast), but if you did not like those you could order off the full breakfast menu and use your coupon for $7 off the cost of the breakfast.

I would recommend O'Brien's if you are ever traveling through Central Maine.
