★ 4I have many good memories of the Cambridge location from my time as a graduate student, so this was my first visit to the Charlestown location with fairly high expectations.
The onion and tomato pizza was just okay. The bread felt overly soaked in the sauce and lost its texture, which was disappointing, especially given the many positive things I’ve heard about the pizza here.
The Akbar Mashti cheesecake (pistachio & saffron) was good—very dense and moist. The pistachio cheesecake layer was nicely thick, though we felt it could be even better with more pistachio crunch on top to add textural contrast.
The flat white was under-extracted, quite acidic, with a grassy flavor. Our biggest concern, however, was that our hot coffee was served in a disposable cup (a paper cup with a plastic layer inside) even though we ordered to dine in. We are a bit concerned about food safety, and mugs would be more appropriate for in-store service.
Overall, today’s experience was a bit disappointing. I’ve previously enjoyed their burrata pesto sandwich, croissant, savory scone, and matcha pound cake, which were all quite good. -

★ 5A small coffee shop that is cute and charming. We ordered two sandwiches and the bread was cold, and at no point did they ask if we wanted them warmed up.
The sandwiches definitely would have been great if the bread was warm.
The mocha my husband ordered was around an 8/10nMy pistachio matcha was a 7/10 because I found the matcha flavor too weaknIt’s a cute place, I wouldn’t go back, but I do recommend trying it! -

★ 5This shop was recommended by my girlfriend, so we went together to try their coffee and baked goods. We ordered the pistachio croissant, pizza, and coffee.
The pistachio croissant had a lovely nutty flavor, was creamy, and not overly sweet — just the way I like it. Everything about it was spot on.
As for the pizza, I really enjoyed the contrast of the crispy crust and the soft, fluffy inside, along with the juicy, flavorful sauce.
Overall, I was really impressed. This is definitely a place I’ll be coming back to — can’t wait to try more of their bakery items! -

★ 5This place is one of the best bakeries/cafes in town. Super aesthetically pleasing and the food is just top level. Get the fruity paistry or the flatbread. Cookies are pretty good too and the matcha is soooo good, great quality powder and mixed. Their saffron syrup is delicious and you can add it to any drink. Honestly don’t miss this spot (this is written out of passion and love for great quality spots)

★ 5Everything on the menu is fantastic, I come for the bread mostly because it is so hard to get good bread in the states.
The coffee is also awesome, if you are used to Starbucks or Dunkin this will be a different experience, the baristas know what they are doing and the beans are great. It's the only place in Charlestown that does a decent latte.
