  The atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant is cozy, and there’s just one bathroom for each gender. The food was delicious, though the pancake was a bit cold. The potatoes were well-seasoned, and the Heavyweight Omelet was both tasty and satisfying. The server was friendly, and I appreciate the interior design.

  The decor & atmosphere is very lovely. The business lacks quality control of the space, along with customer service. Wait times to be seated & served were stretched because of the lack of attention. Food was okay. Chicken lacks flavor, although the gumbo was very delicious, it was too thick like gravy. Red velvet waffle was my absolute favorite. Luckily gratuity was included because the service did not meet the standards.

  Lovely experience with delightful food! Was packed and very busy mid-day Saturday, but despite that the service was still timely and kind. The “Martha’s Seafood Skillet” was perfectly cooked, the shrimps were abundant, and the meal delightfully tasty. Same with the “Gratiot Street” chicken and waffles, literally looks just like the picture and tasted amazing. I also had the southern cheesy grits, which was so yummy and so cheesy!
  The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, loved the decor. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would definitely go here again if in Detroit!

  What an amazing tribute to Joe Lewis Detroit's own very own Joe Louis. The atmosphere was very nice the music was Motown in the food was so tasty everything we had, had his own unique flavor. The only one problem was there was little gnats flying around and this time of year it was pretty peculiar but other than that everything was spectacular we will definitely come back

  Finally made it to dine in. I've had a couple times off door dash but waited to review in person.
  
  Food was good, not great. I had the early bird skillet and my wife had the Martha's smoked seafood skillet. The seafood skillet was good but the early bird skillet was just okay. The potatoes were greasy. I also ordered a plain waffle. It was good but just a waffle. I would go back.
