Skication in the area and stopped in for sandwiches. One of many sandwich shops recommended by our hosts at the Franconia Inn.
The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is clean and organized.
Plenty of choices. We had the Tuscan chicken and Reuben sandwiches. Plenty of food for the price. Good amount of the sides of macaroni and potato salads.
We also got an Italian sub to take for lunch tomorrow while skiing.
We also had a hot vanilla latte that was made perfect. We would certainly stop in again.

We had never been here before, but decided to give it a try it due to more popular restaurants in the area having long wait times. The counter staff was friendly. The prices are very expensive, we ordered a stack of 3 pancakes($15), breakfast sandwich, smoothie, and home fries - total was $45. There was not much atmosphere to this place other than the beautiful mountain views from outside of the restaurant. We had to seat ourselves and clean up after ourselves. Service was very slow. When we were first served one of our meals was incorrect, but quickly fixed. None of our food came out at the same time. My boyfriend and I had to take turns watching one another eat and then wait for the rest of our food to come out. The food was tasty, i'll give them that. But honestly, I wouldn't come back here. It was weird - there's not many other words to describe this place. Waiting in the long line at Polly's Pancake Parlor up the street would've been much more worthwhile.

We stopped for lunch here about thirty minutes before they were closing. I was able to order the Philly Cheesesteak while the wife ordered the Roasted Turkey BLT with Avocado. We were sitting for a few minutes and our food was out. Another customer had a dog that demanded to be petted so that passed the time as well.
The food was good and hot. We both enjoyed our lunch and I stole half of my wife’s macaroni salad.

This was our first visit to this area and we loved it.
Franconia is smaller and quieter than the other local more commercialized ski towns and we were thrilled we chose this town. We visited The Hungry Bear for breakfast during the very busy leaf-peeper season so we were not surprised that there was a 30-minute wait for our food. We didn't mind because we were able to sit at the outside tables and enjoy the weather and the mountain views. Our family enjoyed breakfast burrito, bagel sandwiches, smoothies, hot tea, and remarked especially how good the coffee was. The staff appeared to be owners and family and were attentive and friendly. Overall an excellent place to visit!

Tldr: Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, spotless café! Best bagel I’ve had in New England, fluffy pancakes with real maple syrup, and fresh, filling burritos. Relaxed vibe, quick service, and super clean—will definitely be back! Will recommend to everyone heading this direction from our Lodge (The Woodshed Lodge) in Jay, VT!

    Long version:
Super cute café with delicious breakfast!

My boyfriend had a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito that was very filling and tasty, plus a two-stack of fluffy pancakes with real maple syrup.

I had two eggs, a side of bacon, and an everything bagel—and that bagel was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best bagel I’ve had in New England so far!

The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was chill and relaxing. Music was playing in the background at just the right volume—easy to have a conversation without shouting. Everything was very clean, from the restrooms to the tables and front counter.

We arrived at 9:30 on a weekday morning and it wasn’t busy—just one person ahead of us. Our food was made fresh and ready in under 15 minutes.

We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re passing through Franconia!
