If you’re looking for a beautiful spot on the harbor in Newport, then Flora is your place. Located off Thames Street, Flora is located in the Gardiner Hotel. The atmosphere has a flair of French elegance, paired with impeccable service. There is an outdoor patio and bar that wasn’t yet open for the day when we visited, but on a beautiful night, if you can’t join for dinner, we recommend grabbing a drink to enjoy the views.

We enjoyed a late breakfast and some coffees and lattes. The portion sizes and presentation for breakfast were wonderful. The chef came out to check on our meals, such service and care is truly a special touch.

This is a fine dining restaurant, so it’s preferable to dress nicely- for dinner this is a requirement. Reservations are a must, especially during the busy season.

Gentlemen- plan a date night here with your ladies, you won’t regret it 😉nLentz_explore

What a fantastic dinner at Flora with my girlfriends for our annual Girlsgiving! From the host gathering our jackets, to our server, to the valet making sure we got our group shot. Every employee was so wonderful. At dinner, we were greeted by TR whose prompt service, bubbly personality, and warm hospitality was incredibly professional. He was thorough in explaining the dishes, the wines, and all the specials. Every app was carefully placed and tasted exquisite. For dinner, I ordered the John Dory fish special that was served with zucchini risotto. Possibly the coziest fall dish I’ve ever had. There was nothing left on the plate— I’d say that’s a chefs kiss, right there. We ended the night with a nightcap in the Green bar room downstairs— absolutely stunning bar. Thank you so much for a great experience! We’ll be back!

Last night, my family celebrated my daughter’s graduation at Flora, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Our server, Kevin, was exceptional and made the evening feel even more special with his professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail.

As someone who is both gluten- and dairy-free, I greatly appreciated the care he took in walking me through the menu and helping me choose items I could safely enjoy. The food and drinks were  delicious, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. We look forward to returning again soon!

Amazing experience! Zeynep’s service was outstanding. We ordered two burgers, the avocado toast and the lobster roll. All great dishes. And to top it off we had the basque cake, churros and Miguel, the Spanish chef invited us to the pudding. The best restaurant in Newport.

Such a beautiful place but the food was so incredibly disappointing. The best of it was the mushroom truffle soup which was delicious. The oysters while well chilled and fresh were tiny and not worth the price. The tuna crudo was bland and boring as was the beanzino. The worst however was the $75 surf and turf with a strip steak that was so tough I couldn’t even cut through the fat and again it was near flavorless
