★ 5A quaint little diner whose looks can be quiet deceiving from outside! We were pleasantly surprised but the simple but variety in the menu! The chilli was absolutely delicious with the spicy kick in it! The steak was juicy / tender! Do not miss the hand crafted bread! It is a mouthful of deliciousness!! Absolutely a must stop !! We were told that typically shops unless they have dinner options close by 3:30/4 pm in the area. The price was reasonable for a tourist spot.

★ 3April 2026 update:
Stopped by for lunch a few mins past 12noon and we were seated promptly at a table next to the windows facing the river. Service was quite prompt and very good in a no nonsense way. The NE Clam Chowder home-made soup was very tasty and delicious – definitely a must try if you stop by. Also had a cup of homemade Chili which we were told was spicy hot but we found it to be very good and not at all too spicy hot. The Reuben Sandwich on grilled toast was very good but the accompanying plate of chips were not very interesting. The Philly Cheese-steak looked ok but the taste was average at best and it was served on a soft bun. We've been to Dot's before and we believe that they do much better with breakfast than with lunches they serve. We may return for breakfast sometime in the future but we won't return for lunch.
Oct 2025: Stopped by on a Monday morning around 8:30am and we were welcomed at the door and seated immediately upon arrival. Overall we were impressed with the friendly and efficient service and the tasty breakfast served. The highlight for me was the warm cinnamon roll which was light, tasty and quite delicious without a heavy sugar taste. Eggs were cooked as requested and were tasty as were the roasted potatoes (home fries). The bacon was crispy and tasty as well. The California Eggs Benedict was also tasty and quite filling. Also, be sure to ask for their home-made bread toast which was very light and tasty. Parking is available down the street. If we get a chance again to pass by Wilmington, we'll be sure to stop by. -

★ 5We were driving through and stopped for lunch around 2:15 or so on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We knew they'd be closing soon, and asked if it was too late to come in and order for our family 4. The woman behind the counter was so kind and friendly, saying they'd been waiting all day for us to come in and eat and sat us right away. The server was efficient and so kind. The chili was fantastic, our oldest loved the grilled bacon and cheese, begging to come back again for it. My husband and our youngest both got burgers and fries, raving over how delicious they were. I got the buttermilk chicken sandwich (pictured) and OH. MY. GOD. It was the best sandwich I've ever had in my life, and it was ginormous. I will be dreaming of it daily until the next time we pass through Wilmington. Hats off to Dot's and their staff for an awesome dining experience!

★ 5Dot’s is a true Wilmington staple and one of those places that has been part of the community for as long as I can remember. Even though I don’t live in the area anymore, whenever I come back to Wilmington, I always seem to end up at Dot’s — and there’s a reason for that.
The food is consistently reliable, the service is friendly and dependable, and the whole place has that comfortable small-town Vermont feel that is harder and harder to find. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. Dot’s is simply a solid, welcoming, familiar place where you know you’re going to get a good meal and be treated well.
For me, coming back to Dot’s is part of coming back to Wilmington. It has history, character, and a sense of continuity that really matters in a town like this. Always glad to see it still going strong. -

★ 4The food was absolutely worth the wait! This breakfast spot was packed — we arrived around 10 AM on a Saturday and waited about 30 minutes, with a line stretching out the door and onto the street. Once seated, the food was delicious and the menu offered plenty of great options.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because some staff members came across as quite rude when interacting with customers. I understand they were extremely busy and working hard to keep things moving, but I noticed at least two groups leave before being seated after tense exchanges with the staff. It made for a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere at times, which was unfortunate given how good the food was.
