I wanted to reach out to the owners directly because of an experience I had on 4/1/26. This is the second bad experience I've had in the past couple of years, but this one was so egregious that I felt compelled to bring it to your attention rather than simply write a negative review.

I sent this message last Monday and can see that it was read, yet I've received no response. I also left my phone number and have not received a call back. That silence speaks volumes and only reinforces my concerns.

I appreciate local businesses and have supported yours over the years — including catering lunches for the GPD at the beginning of COVID. But something has changed, and you may not be aware of just how far off track things have gotten.

Everyone has an off day. I experienced one at your shop about six months ago, so I decided to give it another chance since the food was good at one point. Unfortunately, both that visit and my most recent one on 4/1/26 shared the same problem: only unsupervised teenagers were running the place.

The girl at the register was fine — and that's where the positives ended. I ordered two simple subs: an Italian and a meatball. The kid making the meatball sub left it sitting out with just a couple of meatballs on it, then disappeared to the back. He returned with a cold, bare meatball, which he proceeded to throw in the microwave to heat up. Meanwhile, the rest of the sub sat on a bare counter the entire time. He then pulled the meatball out with his gloved fingers and scraped on a couple of spoonfuls of sauce. I was too tired to argue about it.

To make matters worse, another teenager walked outside still wearing his gloves, came back in, and went right back to handling food — not my order, but someone's. No glove change, no hand washing.

I took my subs home (admittedly not my smartest move, but I was exhausted), where my husband was home sick and waiting for food. I figured I would just never come back, but then I thought you might genuinely not know how things are going in your absence.

You guys used to be a go-to spot for so many of us in town. But word travels fast in a small community, and experiences like mine — repeated ones — are the kind that ruin a reputation. People talk, and right now, what they're saying isn't good. I'd hate to see a local business lose its loyal customer base over issues that are entirely fixable.

Overall the food is really good I especially love the pre-made frozen meals in the freezer! However every time I go in to buy my meals I end up standing there waiting for someone to ring me up every single time!
These young people they have working there could care less about customer service they stand around talking while you're standing at the register waiting!!!

Generous portions are served at this sub shop. They also have a small market with prepared foods and meats to take home and grill! I cannot wait for my next sandwich and you can order it with a New England sandwich tradition: hots!
We brought home a jar of the local honey from Maplehill Apiaries. Their summer collection’s floral and lavender notes are phenomenal.
Try their baked goods too! Blondies do not disappoint.

I haven't been to B&P since the owner said some pretty awful things online about a female politician. A few years later, I spin through in town hoping for good food. The food was delicious, and in my brief time picking it up, I got to hear at least three different openly racist and bigoted statements out of the cashier and a patron. They seemed pretty casual about that. Not cool, B&P. Never again from me. Sad - the food is great.

I have Door-dashed a few times and always really good. Finally had the opportunity to eat in and it did not disappoint. Nothing fancy but great place for a bite, plenty of seating. Staff were great as well. I had the grilled cheese and soup and it was perfect!
