  I can't recommend Barbie's. I wanted corned beef hash and no cafe has ever before served me canned hash. Hormel just isn't very good, not what I expect from a restaurant, and in fact at Barbie's they didn't even cook it, it came practically raw to my table (see picture). Also I ordered over medium eggs but they came practically raw, not even cooked enough for over easy. It was like the cook's pan was only lukewarm or something. I didn't actually even eat a bite of it, I was really disappointed. And to make things worse the service was pretty much no service, I needed a fork and maybe to have my food recooked but when the bill came after 25 minutes we just left hungrynnDown the road Judy's makes real corned beef hash.

  Barbie’ is part of the eggery triangle. The other 2 are Jackie’s and Judy’s. In my opinion Barbie’s is on top of the three, however they’re all great diners frequented by real Alaskans.
  From the outside there are few clues this will be an exceptional experience. Even when you walk in things feel slightly dated, but have a seat and get over yourself for a minute. What sells it for me are the hash browns, my theory is the chef is military and he consistently is on point. The omelettes are generous and the waitresses are hard working. They might even have a corny joke for you. You’re always at home with Barbie’s

  Barbies was fantastic!!! A very nice local diner with very delicious food!!! Seat yourself…A lot of great diner food choices and I believe the waitress name was Sherie?? . She was a bundle of sunshine. Food came quickly, was hot and filled the plate. I could not finish my food. Very reasonably priced well worth it !! Lots of free parking and plenty of seating! Barbies had a nice photo display of a veteran with medals and pictures. Forgot to take a photo of it. Not sure if it is her husband, but it was a very nice touch.

  My favorite omelettes in Anchorage!! They have lrge portion sizes, flavorful and perfect hashbrowns that are crispy and never soggy or undercooked. We love how early they're open too. Prices are very fair for the items to boot. Our go to breakfast spot for some in and take out.

  Nice neighborhood location. American fare served in generous portions. Very nice staff. I ordered an omelette and told the server my wife and I were going to split it and amazingly they plated it accordingly. Only negative is the interior is a bit tattered. Chair seats cracked and the carpet is in a very sad state. That said, do eat there and enjoy as I did. Thanks for reading.
