★ 5If your staying at the mt.washington don’t forget to check out the cozy Bretton arms dining experience. It’s a wonderfully kept secret and very quit comparative to the hotel. Every meal we had was amazing truly a wonderful experience. Every meal was accompanied by a complimentary sampling from the chef. At breakfast we had a small strawberry smoothie from the chef and for desert we had a coconut macaroon all as an unexpected treat. You must eat here if your at the mt.washington. The wine menu is also vast and they tell you what wines to pair with your dish for those not as well versed a wine expert.

★ 5Dennis is truly the highlight of our experience at Bretton Arms Dining Room. We stayed at the Bretton Arms Inn and enjoyed breakfast here every morning as part of our stay. The hospitality from everyone was exceptional, but Dennis, who greeted us each day as the host, made our mornings unforgettable. His kindness and attentiveness added a special touch to our visit. He truly deserves a raise for making our experience so memorable!

★ 5Probably the best restaurant in Northern New Hampshire. The fixed menu with the wine pairing is excellent. The service needs a little improvement to keep the water glasses full and clear the empties quickly, but otherwise was fine. With some more polishing this restaurant could make Michelin honorable mention.

★ 2My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night at the Bretton Arms. The staff was very friendly but for the price point there should have been more attention to details. For example empty glasses stayed on the table too long and waters weren’t filled always timely. The wine menu was extensive but overwhelming and hard to find the glasses of wine in the mix of the bottles. There was a complimentary amuse bouche. It was hot chocolate in a shot glass which really didn’t make sense or complement anything that we were eating. It was confusing to have hot chocolate in a small glass to start the meal. My husband and I split 3 courses. We started with the wild boar ravioli, the flavors were good but the meat was tough and it wasn’t really a ravioli at all. It was two slices of pasta on the top and bottom with a slow roasted wild boar dish in between. We waited over 25 minutes for the next course. Our second course was the scallops found on the main entree section. They were PERFECTLY cooked and fresh. The flavors were amazing and was by far the best dish of the night. We finished with venison which was not evenly cooked. There were many sections of the cut that were overcooked. The expectations for the restaurant was that this meal would be a fine dining experience with excellent food, but the details are expected for this to be accomplished and ultimately there were too many details missed.
