A great little dinner full of happy people and great food. The corn chowder was fresh full of bacon and goodness. The hot open steak sandwich was cooked to perfection and gravy was tops. The cuban sandwich was very good too. Im from soflo so i know cubanos this was pretty close. More butter on the outside of the pressed bread and you have it! Over all A

Avoid the so-called French onion soup. A can of Campbell's, two barely melted slices of Swiss cheese and a fistfull of croutons is NOT how to make French Onion Soup.

In nearly 40 years, I don't EVER recall not finishing an order of French onion soup... until now. It was awful. Nearly tasteless.

The burger and fries saved this from getting one star - they were pretty good.

Friendly staff, great affordable menu, very good breakfast. I’d definitely stop in here again. Staff were all very friendly. The view from the windows are beautiful, I didn’t sit next to it so I couldn’t take a picture.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and were blown away by the amazing food and service! We had a burger, the Reuben with tater tots, and tomato bisque. My goodness, everything was perfect. And I swear, it was the best tomato bisque I’ve ever had in my entire life (and I worked for a fine dining seafood restaurant for a decade…). Can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a must! Thank you so much to the lovely staff!

Hardwick is a great little town and this diner has been a central feature forever. It’s clean and some tables overlook the river. At times the kitchen service can be slow, but the food is always good. They are open for breakfast and lunch and breakfast is served all day. Their corned beef hash is made in-house and is excellent. They always have a selection of pies. Other foods are typical diner fare. We don’t like their chili, we think it is tasteless and soft. But the soups are nice. Staff is usually busy but pleasant. New favorites are the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich, the western sandwich and eggs Benedict. The hamburgers are good. I’m told the pancakes and French toast are great - and they are served with real Vt maple syrup.
