Deep City in Burlington, Vermont, is a standout brunch destination that effortlessly combines thoughtful cooking with an exceptional setting. Located right along the waterfront, the restaurant offers scenic lake views that create a calm, inviting backdrop for a leisurely meal. The space itself is bright and welcoming, filled with natural light and an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and friendly.

The menu presents an impressive range of food and beverage options. I began with a cup of hot chocolate—rich, comforting, and well balanced—before moving on to the chicken legs plate. Visually striking, the dish features vibrant colors and a compelling variety of textures and flavors. The chicken was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, while the carefully chosen garnishes complemented the main protein with clarity and intention.

With its beautiful location, confident cooking, and warm ambiance, Deep City delivers a consistently excellent dining experience and is well worth a visit when in Burlington.

Very nice little spot for brunch/lunch that we discovered randomly while next door to foam brewery. The service was excellent, and really enjoyed their decor.
They had a terrasse outside that was also nice but was packed on the beautiful day we went, so we ate inside.
Food wasn’t too bad, but definitely missing flavor and love for my liking.
The only thing I thought was super delicious was the banana bread and that really delicious homemade butter or cream cheese. Miammm 🤤

I am overjoyed that Deep City exists! Their former restaurant ‘Penny Cluse’ was a staple in Burlington for decades and I was devastated when they closed due to covid fallout. They’re back in a new location, with a new name, but the menu items are what I remember from years past. I ordered the Penny Cluse and tried to finish every last bite but was far too full from the ample plate. Perfectly over-medium eggs, perfectly crisp yet plump homefries, perfect buttermilk biscuits that balanced sweet and savory, and smothered with their cream gravy ohhhhh yum yum yum. I will be coming back to Deep City SOON. Thanks for an exceptional breakfast, friendly and attentive service, and a euphoric taste-bud trip down memory lane.

We came for breakfast but ended up having brunch just because the wait was so long. At the end of all of it, it was surprisingly worth it!

The banana bread was super good! The bowl breakfast (with eggs and coconut rice) was fantastic!

The service is relaxed but attentive. The music is good background music and at a reasonable level that allows conversation.

The place is not cheap but the portions are generous!

This place totally rocks! Excellent atmosphere, very clean, lots of light, lovely decor. Our waiter Nathaniel was outstanding, he was chill but attentive, very authentic, and attentive to details that are important to us such as lemons 🍋 for water, coffee refills without having to ask, and food brought to us hot without delay. Also, being very busy, we did not feel rushed at all by our waiter. We always tip well when not rushed. Food was incredible! We highly recommend this place!!!!! Thank You! 🙏🏼 🎉😎
