We went on a Saturday morning around 9am for brunch. Not overly busy at this point of the day! The environment was very relaxed and calming but also a vibe. Not boring. The rustic atmosphere was very pleasant and we loved the idea of a self serve coffee bar with all the unique coffee cups! The food was amazing. I got the breakfast burrito with chips and salsa. The salsa was amazing. It hit every taste bud. Our server was attentive and very welcoming. We were in the room with the coffee bar and our server opened up the big windows - sunlight and fresh air just poured in. We live over an hour away but very much enjoyed our first visit and we will be back!!

Three of us had breakfast on a weekend. This is one of the best breakfast places in the state of Maine. The service is both professional, very well trained and very caring. I was impressed and we had not even ordered yet! It’s a cloth napkin establishment which has been arranged to allow space and intimacy so you don’t feel crowded and it feels light and airy. On your way in, I suggest you swing by the coffee bar as it saves you from getting up again after your seated. The cup selection is great. The menu is innovative and unusual so there are options for both the classic and the adventurer. I’m to understand the menu is dynamic. Our food came out quickly and the quality was excellent. I highly recommend this breakfast. The chef understands both the foundation of a good dish and the attention to detail to make a restaurant stand out.

My wife and I stopped for brunch on our way from Bath to Acadia Bay Inn in Sullivan. We ate on the lovely outdoor patio/deck. The brunch menu is very creative with many riffs on eggs benedict among other delights. We enjoyed the brunch so much we returned two nights later (1hr 10 min drive each way) for their Monday dinner that features Mexican food using Maine ingredients. The salsas, in particular, were excellent. You know the cooking is good when everything on the plate tastes great! When you want something different from the usual Maine seafood, the Hoot is the place to go.

    Simply put: outstanding!
I rarely find a place that does everything right in my opinion but this place did. Immediately got seated in a nice little outdoor area, ice water and glasses ready at the table. The menu left no questions with its description of items and the wait staff was helpful as well. My burger was cooked to perfection, as was my egg. The potatoes were outstanding. And the hot sauce. I've never had better anywhere. House made and sadly, not for sale.slight smokey flavor, very thick, not too spicy but still with kick. My wife greatly enjoyed her sandwich as well. If you're in the area this really needs to be a stop on your list. I know I'll be coming every time I'm within an hour's drive.

My wife and I visited this lovely restaurant for brunch around 11:30 on a Monday. It was not super busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Cuban Breakfast and the Breakfast Burrito. We both thoroughly enjoyed the dishes that were packed with flavor and were appropriately portioned. We ended up sitting for a while after our meal to chat on the partly shaded patio where we were seated. This place has the atmosphere, the flavor, and the value that you look for in a casual dining experience. Would highly recommend and will return if we’re in the area again!
