★ 1Please believe the horror stories.
I want to preface by saying I’ve worked on and off in hospitality since my teens. I’ve never come to google to leave a negative review before because I know how hard it can be.
The experience I had in this diner was genuinely so uncomfortable my girlfriend and I had to leave and go wait for our coach in the shady station food court at 11 PM and we preferred the vibe.
The server was really unnecessarily rude to us from the beginning. We had been there not even 30 minutes, diner completely empty, and the server walks by and puts the bill on the table next to my girlfriend’s practically full plate of French toast and glass of grapefruit juice?? After putting in an order for vegan chicken nuggets (My girlfriend is fully vegan and I’m vegetarian) and being scolded for not ordering our food all at once (What about ordering dessert??) We were served a plate of what was unmistakably real chicken with a dipping sauce that was also not vegan. Normally it would be okay for the server to not hear us say vegan, but we had literally just ordered the vegan option for our French toast?? At this point we were too afraid of our server to even say anything so we just asked for the bill but when she asked if we wanted a box we explained and she made it out to be our fault.
My girlfriend is British and I was hoping to give her a nice all-American diner experience. Could not imagine it going any worse. Food was terrible as well. -

★ 5Great friendly experience.
Food: Ordered the fried chicken eggs benedict, it was delicious and came with hash browns.
Service: Outstanding. It was quiet but my server was super attentive and friendly. He also guessed in his head that I would order that dish - it must be a good one.
Price: Not used to USD so about average for a meal. -

★ 1I placed an order from doordash and I have nothing good to say about the two breakfast orders that cost $42, beyond the home fries & the nice bag it came in. The toast wasn't toasted, the scrambled eggs weren't scrambled, nor were they cooked over hard. None of the meat was chopped in the omelet & 2 whole slices of cheese that were thrown inside barely melted. Please do better South Diner!

★ 5South Street Diner was the perfect late-night stop for a bite on a Saturday night. I can definitely see why this place gets so busy, especially with how convenient it is after a good night out.
The food was amazing, satisfying, and exactly what you want when you are looking for something comforting late at night. The atmosphere had that classic diner feel, and it made the experience even better.
Overall, South Street Diner is definitely worth stopping by if you are looking for great food, convenience, and a reliable late-night spot. -

★ 5Took me way too long to come back here! Last time, it was the early 90's and still the Blue Diner. Had a massive craving for pancakes and convinced my husband to go here. The menu is huge, prices are reasonable.
It's tiny, tiny, tiny, with that classic 24-hour diner vibe. We had to wait a few minutes to sit down, which was no problem. I watched the line cooks just being absolute machines on the three flat tops and two fryers.
We sat at the counter and our waitress was funny and sweet. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch pancakes and the lobster Benedict were great. The portions are BIG. I could only eat half of the pancakes (and my blood sugar is probably glad). Great time.
