Easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of Maine, this place is exceptional. Massive portions, huge selection of plates, and friendly staff. I cannot recommend This place any higher. 1000/10. I come every time I can.
Courtney was an amazing server too!

Our experience at The Sedgley Place for our intimate wedding ceremony and dinner was amazing! Ali and team were incredibly helpful with planning, set up, last minute change of outdoor chair arrangements, AND last but not least, the service of drinks and food!
The food was delicious, the mixed drinks were awesome (especially the espresso martini!) and the staff was extraordinary. I would not hesitate to book this venue for a private dinner, wedding, anniversary or other celebration.

The food has to almost exceed the venue experience at their prices. Our starter cheese and crackers was likely scooped out of a tub of cheese served w ritz crackers. App choices we had were fair. Found the frozen meatballs that were wamred w way too much tomatosauce odd. But the mushroom cap and caprese was ok.. Ceaser salad needs a homemade dressing to add at least a little flavor. Main, I had assorted seafood in a tasteless cream sauce. The two overcooked, tough lobster claw meat w a little white fish lacked flavor. Two of us had the fish dish which is oddly served w the only sides they offer for every dish. The potatoes were either instant or so over whipped it was just a cold pile of tasteless food. Our 4 sprigs of asparagus had to have been cooked hours ago. So dry. Desserts were good for our party. Up the food quality and they will have a wonderful place to dine out at

My fiance and I visit Sedgleys at least once a year. It has been a treat for us for many years now. We decided to join our family there for Easter this year. It is with great regret that I share how poor this experience was. The first entree was served to one family member about ten minutes before the last family member got hers. My steak was thin, not cooked well, tough cut, did not come with sprinkled blue cheese (I needed to request from the server) and I didn't finish half of it. My asparagus was raw. The quiche had no crust and was served with mashed potatoes? Instead of mushroom caps for an appetizer, we were served one big portobello. We needed to request silverware and water refills. I understand the fact that they were busy, but for $350 for 3 guests, I have high expectations and Sedgelys always matched them. Unfortunately, I regret going and I won't be back. Please Sedgleys, take a close look at this review, that's all I ask.

My boisterous family of 8 ate here last night. We chose The Sedgley Place because of its food and atmosphere, and we were in the mood to celebrate.

The food is as advertised: amazing. It's served in 6 perfectly-paced courses, and every single one was on point. Most of us were so full we couldn't finish our main courses or desserts. I highly recommend the st■ mushrooms and prime rib.
The atmosphere was also perfect: classy but not stuffy. Yes, there were cloth napkins and multiple forks, but we didn't feel like we had to whisper or sit up straight the whole time. The lighting was perfect (nobody looked tired or weird in photos), and somehow they made it feel cozy even though the place was packed.

The MVP of the night, though, was our waitress Rachel. This woman deserves a medal, a raise, and possibly sainthood. She immediately diagnosed our vibe, matched our energy, cracked jokes right back at us, and somehow kept our drinks and food coming without missing a beat. She was attentive without hovering, funny without trying too hard, and made us feel like we were her favorite table, even though the restaurant was clearly full. 10/10, would request Rachel again.

If you're looking for an upscale dining experience that can handle a lively group and doesn't take itself too seriously, this is your spot. Just make sure you come hungry; you're going to need the room.
