If you want fantastic service, amazing food and a really cool and comfy atmosphere, this is your place. My boyfriend and I drive twice a year to visit our favorite hotel and restaurant :) we truly cannot express how amazing this team is. We LOVE the lattes and Greek yogurt with homemade granola (it is our absolute favorite breakfast/brunch ever). It was so good that we asked to have the house granola sent to us and the Salt Yard team sent it immediately!

We also recommend the charcuterie board (excellent cheeses) & any of their drinks! They also have trivia on occasion!

If ever you’re in Portland, we highly encourage you to check out this spot. Whether you’re picking something up or staying for a bit, it’s truly a gem.

delicious breakfast! the coffee was also delicious. I will say it was a little watered down but overall I would get again (I got the honey lavender latte!)nThe service was great, very friendly crew! and the atmosphere was good, only thing I will say about that is if you are wanting to sit outside, they did not have any outside seating.

Salt Yard, located on the ground floor of the Canopy Hotel in downtown Portland, is an absolute gem. The space itself is stunning—luxurious, modern, and incredibly inviting, with an open, airy design that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. It feels elevated without being intimidating, and effortlessly stylish.

The drink menu is truly unique and creative. Standouts include the Salt Yard Latte, an espresso with caramel and sea salt, the Matcha Dubai Chocolate, and the honey lavender latte—each one thoughtfully crafted and perfectly balanced. These aren’t just drinks; they feel like small indulgent experiences.

Beyond coffee, Salt Yard also offers an extensive menu of breakfast plates, making it an ideal spot whether you’re grabbing a morning latte or settling in for a relaxed breakfast. Everything about the space—from the ambiance to the menu—feels intentional and refined.

If you’re looking for a coffee spot in Portland that blends exceptional design, inventive drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere, Salt Yard is absolutely worth a visit. ☕✨

Absolutely delicious breakfast experience. Everything tasted super fresh, flavorful, and unique. I especially loved the hash browns/potatoes, they had a rich taste, were very satisfying, and the portion sizes were just right: filling without being too heavy. The price was also very reasonable .. about $55 for the two of us — which felt fair for the quality and portions.
The only small service miss was that no one asked how I wanted my eggs cooked. I happen to like them runny, so it worked out for me, but it could be an issue for guests who prefer them more well done. They were also out of lots of menu items (cafe).
The atmosphere is beautiful and really adds to the overall experience. The only downside was when we were leaving, there were around six dogs gathered in the lobby area, which made it a bit difficult to move around. If the restaurant is dog-friendly, it would be helpful to have clear signage at the entrance so guests who are uncomfortable around dogs or have allergies know in advance.

I had lunch here and everything was delicious. I’ve had the Salt Yard Latte twice now and it’s really good, I prefer it hot over iced. The chowder and the leek soup were so delicious. The clarified cocktail was so so so good!
