My friend and I found this wonderful place while out antiquing. The food was amazing and the staff were wonderful. I have eaten at many breakfast restaurants, this was by far the best! The veggie Benedict was delicious. Fresh asparagus, spinach and tomato. The baked beans were so good! I will be back to try lunch and dinner. Well worth traveling a half hour for!
Also a bakery that is hard to resist!

My wife and I recently moved into town and were looking for a new breakfast spot. We visited Friendly Diner and couldn’t be happier with the service and quality of food. The portions are large, and everything was made fast and cooked perfectly. The French toast and home fries were excellent - as was the pumpkin iced coffee. The staff there were super friendly, and we’re glad to say we have a new go-to right down the street from our apartment. Would highly recommend!

I wanted to love it. Nice things: quaint and local and home made goodies. Service barely average. Left for a while after seated before being offered coffee.

I am a lover of potatoes and home fries. These coated ones felt like they weee dumped from a frozen Walmart bag and just fried in oil. Kind of cheap tasting. Texture and flavor is big in breakfast potatoes.

They offered me onions and peppers but look at the pic. It was weird. Since the potatoes are hard shelled (from fry batter) the veggies just sort of dumped on and fell off when picking them up with a fork. Kinda felt amateur.

I know it’s personal but griddle your home fries, so flavor of onions and peppers seasons them.

UDATED REVIEW. We went for breakfast again, but this time they had a roll up wheelchair ramp! Pleasant surprise! I ordered a breakfast sandwich sausage, egg and cheese with home fries. Julie ordered a spinach omelet with home fries and a grilled blueberry muffin. Drinks were oj and coffee. The home fries were very crunchy potato nuggets, really good, and my breakfast sandwich was excellent. Julie said that her omelet was right on point. The oj was good, source unknown ( bottled, fresh squeezed, concentrated) coffee was reported to be very good as well. So glad we decided to visit again! The ladies who served us were terrific, joking, trading stories, making us feel right at home. Atmospherically, not much can be done, it's a plain white dining room with nondescript furniture, but having said that, it's as clean as a whistle. It's been jokingly said that Pittsfield has a pizza joint for every street, but it isn't so. Check out the Friendly Diner. Get pizza next week. 😉

This alone is worth the trip.

The filling isn't too sweet so it's not too mich with the honey sweetness of the baklava.

Creamy and decadent with the baklava flavor you know best.

Do yourself a favor and try this.
