★ 4Decided to try this place out last night. (Monday night). It was surprisingly busy, but we were able to sit right down at the bar. Lots of bar seating, high top tables as well as regular tables. Menu looked pretty extensive which was great as there is something for everyone. From burgers to salmon, fish and chips to salads. Bartender was very pleasant and helpful. They also had a pretty extensive beer list with some local brews. Food was good, your average pub fare. Ordered the southwest salad, it was very good, but next time I would order light dressing. I personally would have liked a little spicier, seeing as it was a southwest style salad, there wasnt much of a spice to it, but I know that that is really a personal taste. All in all the food was good, wasn't long before our orders were in front of us. Would definitely eat here again.

★ 3Stopped by the Trap for the first time the other day and overall I wasn’t mad at it. The parking lot is tight, especially when busy. But the restaurant itself was spacious and decorated nicely. We were sat in a dining area off to the front that did get a little noisy.
Our waitress was friendly but not overly personable. However, she did get the job done. Another waiter brought over an extra chair that the party in the table in front of us didn’t need so he left it right in front of my party so we couldn’t get out. A little weird but not the end of the world.
For dinner we started with the fried pickles. They were nice and crispy and portion was pretty generous for $10. We could have used more of the sauce though. My main meal was the chicken parm sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich I felt was a little small for the price tag. Chicken was cut into strips with some funky pieces and not overly crispy. Tater tots were an extra $2 but the container they came in wasn’t an impressive size either.
So, why three stars? The Trap isn’t a bad restaurant but I felt that the price didn’t justify average food. I think I’d come back again to try something else in the future though. -

★ 2Disappointed. Expected better. Our scheduled office Christmas get together and the holiday decor was minimal at best. No effort there. Nine of us ordered the steak tips, I would call them steak pieces. They were tasty but only took up 1/4 of the plate if that. It was like you ordered the steak tips but you got a huge bowl of au gratin potatoes( they were quite delicious) with a side of steak pieces. The plate presentation was also non-existent. And why even bother with the broccoli? Not a fan.

★ 5Great menu and beer selection. Always busy in here and the wait staff does a great job handling whatooka like a massive amount of tables. Bugers are fresh and huge. They have live music you can find a schedule for online. Definitely worth a try or repeat visit.

★ 2I came here on Mother’s Day with my 7 year old son. He wanted to take mom out on a ‘date’ for Mother’s Day. We had a 5:15 reservation since I figured that’s when the brunch rush would be over and pre dinner time should be light. The restaurant was relatively quiet. We chose to sit on the patio— and after we were seated two other parties were seated around us. Their orders were taken first, they were attended to first. We finally placed our order about 15 mins after being seated. It took that long for someone to approach our table. My neighbors were on round two of cocktails before we got water. The food came out and was pretty good. Except there was no sauce on the steak. I waited for a waitress to ask for some but ours never came. Finally we ate, I asked a bus employee for the dessert menus. Our waitress finally came back, took our order and brought us a to-go container. By the time dessert arrived, our used but empty dinner dishes were still in front of us. So at this point, I asked the food runner to take the used dishes and my credit card so I could pay sometime within the remainder of the evening.
And the worst part? I still tipped well. Whether the waitress saw us as a ‘cheap bill’ (although I absolutely would have ordered a drink had we gotten a drink menu) or was just exhausted from the day— on Mother’s Day I felt like a burden to this restaurant. On a day where I was supposed to feel celebrated— I felt the perpetual cultural lie that moms should come last prevailed.
We had instructed our son on how to behave on a date. And because our waitress was so absent, I didn’t even want to give him the opportunity to try to communicate with someone who seemed to wish our table was empty.
I’m the queen of positive reviews. I love leaving them. But this one couldn’t go unwritten.
Another kicker is that I was considering the trap for a pretty large corporate event I am planing towards the end of this year. And at this point? I just can’t.
