★ 4The food was excellent. The French toast was easily one of the best I’ve had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and buttery, and the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs was outstanding.
The reason for four stars instead of five is the service. It was inattentive and at times rude. I had to ask three times for cream for my coffee and waited about 10 minutes, by then the coffee was warm instead of hot. It was never refilled either, which defeats the purpose of advertising bottomless coffee. We also had to grab syrup and butter from another table after requesting them multiple times.
The biggest surprise was the orange juice. We were asked for drink orders before seeing the menu and assumed it would be the typical $2–$3. Instead, we were charged $11, which felt excessive, freshly squeezed or not.
Great food, but the service needs improvement. -

★ 4One of the most consistent breakfast/brunch spots in the Somerville area! Ball Square Cafe has a large breakfast menu which is perfect for the indecisive eater. Their eggs, pancakes, French toast, and omelets are all very good. The waiting staff is also very nice and friendly but it sometimes takes a little bit for food to arrive since they get quite busy. It mostly gets crowded in the mornings especially on weekends, so be ready to wait for a table. If you arrive before your party they will not let you sit, so make sure that if you are with a group, you all enter together.

★ 5This is one of my favorite breakfast meals that I've ever had! I ordered the eggs with hash Benedict and a choccy chip pancake. The service was great and I plan on coming back!

★ 5Really good service!!! No wait, both times I've been, however, I've seen people waiting outside for a table. Yummy food! The Moroccan eggs were fantastic! The omelets are good, so are the eggs and steak tips!!
Went back another time! My partner had the Moroccan eggs, I had a bacon/mushroom omelet and we shared the raspberry French toast with vanilla cream!! So delicious!! Great service!! -

★ 5We ordered catering from Ball Sq Café for a party of 27 people. The catering menu and online ordering are very easy to use. After placing our order, we felt we may not have enough food. We placed a call to Mike, and he was extremely helpful with finalizing the menu and suggesting additional options to ensure everyone left full, which they did.
We ordered chicken broccoli ziti, st￭ shells, boneless chicken tenders, mac and cheese and I had to get some meat lasagna for myself. Our guests raved about the food and scraped the pans for leftovers to bring back to their hotels.
Mike was very accommodating with the pickup time and process. Everything was ready when we arrived, including the extra sauce for the st￭ shells and sauces for the chicken tenders.
If you are looking for amazing food and great service for your next event, order your catering at Ball Sq Café. You won’t be disappointed.
