It was my first time in Boston, and a local friend highly recommended Brookline Lunch. Overall, it was a good experience.
We ordered the zaatar bowl, the shakshuka with chicken, and the baklava pancakes. Personally, I was much more of a fan of the savory dishes, the bowls were very filling, packed with fresh veggies and protein, and full of flavor.
The pancakes were good as well: super soft and fluffy, exactly what you’d expect from buttermilk pancakes. However, they felt a bit overly sweet because of the combination of syrup and baklava. Also, considering it’s one of their signature dishes, I expected more actual baklava pieces instead of just a few small bits.
The staff was friendly and accommodating overall, although things became a little confusing when it came time to pay. Since there were 3 of us, we asked to split the bill between 3 cards, but the waitress initially told us we could only pay with one card, which was odd.
The atmosphere was great and the restaurant is beautifully decorated, you instantly get a warm Middle Eastern vibe when you walk in. The only downside was that it felt quite hot inside.
Overall, it was a good experience with flavorful food, a fun atmosphere, and a spot worth trying in Boston.

Came here for brunch and waited about 30 minutes for a table, which already set expectations pretty high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.
The pistachio baklava pancakes were the clear standout—unique, well-executed, and genuinely delicious. Definitely the dish I’d recommend if you do come here.
The za’atar egg bowl was just okay and could have benefited from more sauce and seasoning, and the shakshuka was fine but nothing memorable—I’ve had better elsewhere.
Service was also lacking. We asked for coffee multiple times and never received it; it felt like the staff was overwhelmed and inattentive, which took away from the experience.
Overall, the food is decent, with one excellent dish, but between the long wait times, lines, and subpar service, it’s hard to say it’s worth the effort. Probably not a spot I’d wait in line for again.

Not the typical brunch place were you can cook that at home. Unique menu especially the Baklava Pancakes, they definitely one of the best pancakes I had in any brunch place. A bit loud but you can still talk, line is usually long but moves quickly. Be ready to eat and leave otherwise staff kindly will remind you there's people waiting outside (and that's OK). Also bring cash, is cash only (which I usually don't carry). I would visit again for sure to taste other stuff on the menu.

It seems like this place if good for pancakes, unfortunately we wanted some eggs and what came out for the Garden omelet and the Greek omelet was a huge quantity of food (estimate it contained 4-5 eggs), but almost inedible. Mine had egg shells in it (crunchy), and a carrot top with rotted leaves attached (see photo). We are here on vacation and had been eating quick breakfasts at the nearby McDonald's so we're not sticklers for quality for breakfast, but this was so bad it stood out.

this place is CASH ONLY!!! food came out maybe less than five minutes after i ordered which already impressed me. i ordered the spicy sausage shakshuka and a hot chocolate, both of which didn’t disappoint. sausage wasn’t really too spicy at all! all of the staff are super nice and attentive, and the walls are filled with pretty photographs of people and people’s writing.
