Great place that literally has it all. From axe handles, to paints, tooth paste, screws, water shoes, hats, tshirts, water, deli meats, fresh produce, toiletries, etc. For real, Avery's has it all and great friendly staff to boot. Located downtown Charlemont right on route 2, Avery's is an area staple with such great history and historical significance. Definitely worth checking out for all your needs. Buy local, Avery's makes it affordable.

This use to be a wonderful general store. But once it was no longer under the control of the coop of employees, it's gone down hill.

I had ordered food a number of times and all was well. I would often get a roast beef sandwich with cheese and yellow bell peppers. The last few times I had ordered it, the order was incorrect. The Final time I ordered it then just took the whole pepper chopped it up and placed it in my sandwich, Stem and all. I stopped going after that unless it's complete necessary.

Also All the prices have inflated well beon normal inflation.

The OG staff is awesome, much love to Ken and the others.

Seems like a typical general store with hardware and groceries but the deli carries Boars Head (which is high end) and they make the best breakfast sandwiches! We get them to go on our way through. Haven't stopped for lunch but the sandwich menu looks delicious. Definitely worth the stop.

Avery's is a genuine slice of history. If you are as displeased as I am with corporate marketing methods of selling us what we don't really need because it makes some CEO more money, you'll be just as pleased with Avery's style of doing things. The beer cooler is stocked with plenty of single cans of craft beer, in sizes that don't require two or three people to share them. There are local sausage, cheese, eggs, and other products. They even have locally made doughnuts delivered directly from Adams in Greenfield. The deli counter makes great sandwiches both for breakfast and lunch. The place is a gem.
