The Cliff House is a special place. I recently stayed at Prospect Berkshires for three nights… I planned on trying The Cliff House for a few meals, and then venturing out for others. I never ended up leaving… The Cliff House was THAT good, that I had breakfast and dinner there all 3 mornings and nights! Everything on the menu is excellent from the omelettes and cappuccinos at breakfast, to the squash and trout at dinner (100/10). Oh, and don’t miss the hot chocolate! The physical space is so cozy, the view is incredible, and the staff was so kind and accommodating. I was traveling alone and they made me feel right at home. It is an absolute must visit if you are in the area. I can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic restaurant with beautiful scenery. I was staying on the property and decided to try the restaurant, which turned out to be a great choice. The food is unique and very well executed.

The flageolet cassoulet was excellent. A really interesting mix of meats that worked together beautifully and felt genuinely special. The beef ragu was also very good, with nicely cooked beef. The gnocchi were more like baked dough balls than traditional gnocchi, with about ten pieces in the dish, but still enjoyable.

For sides, the potatoes were excellent. The broccolini was tasty but very small in portion size. Dessert was cheesecake, which was well made but very dense and loaf-like. My fiancée enjoyed it more than I did.

Breakfast food was good, but the mandatory 20 percent gratuity was disappointing. Service was noticeably weaker than dinner, and we often had to get up to ask for things ourselves. If service is minimal, a mandatory tip does not feel appropriate. Raising menu prices slightly and allowing guests to tip based on experience would feel more fair.

This is an amazing farm to table restaurant which is in the unique setting that is not quite a boutique hotel and not quite glamping - the cabins of Prospect Berkshires. The Cliff House is a restaurant on the property (open to those who are not staying in the cabins) where the food is not only delicious and well prepared, but in a truly breath-taking setting. Everything we ordered was well prepared, interesting, and excellent. As appetizers, we enjoyed the Rainbow Carrots and Fish Croquettes. We both enjoyed our main courses, the Steelhead Trout and Lamb Stew (which our server said is quite popular, and remarkably light for such a dish). They also have some interesting drinks - alcoholic and alcoholic. Service was excellent - attentive but not overbearing, and really pleasant staff. It is worth coming here 30 minutes before sunset (if the timing works) so you can see the grounds, take in the golden light, and enjoy the slow change over to night. Reservations often fill up at this restaurant, and once you come you will know why!

I believe that anticipation and reality meet in restaurant and hotel reviews. So colored by the excitement a new destination brings to an area that I lived down the road from nearly thirty years ago when it was a seasonal seedy campground, I anticipated a romantic setting and food brilliance when I met a friend for dinner. The enclosed golf cart ride was a pleasant surprise on a suddenly chilly and drizzly spring evening. But the noise level on the heated patio was not. So we opted for a chilly (damn! Why was the blower blowing cold?) table inside, so we could talk to each other and be heard. Service was attentive and pleasant, but I have to agree with other reviews, the plating was attractive, but the contents - in our case roast asparagus and chicken - was best described as 'precious': well prepared, but minimalist. Last I looked that cuisine went out with 'nouvelle cuisine'. That being said the price point is very high for local diners. This is a place where you go to celebrate something ie forgetting what it looked like before being transformed to the romantic setting it now is. But boy do I miss those sizeable meals on the bar-b...

We had a wonderful experience at The Cliff House, where we celebrated my girlfriend's birthday. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute table, even though reservations were fully booked for the entire week — a huge thank you to Lannon for accommodating us!

The food was excellent, and we loved the presentation. The drinks not only looked amazing, they tasted even better. I'll be making an excuse to be back wayyyy sooner rather than later! Thanks again, Cliff House!!
