★ 3On the way out of town looking for a spot to watch before we hit the road and we came across breakfast republic. It was very crowded (1 hour wait for a party of 8) but we didn’t mind because we were already parked and one of our group members said it was good.
While this restaurant seems to be upscale from the outside, the ambiance on the inside was akin to a Denny’s. I’ve actually had better customer service experiences at Denny’s come to think of it. One of our group members didn’t get their meal until after the rest of the table had already eaten. 👎 Since we’re on the topic of waiting, there was also a ridiculous wait line for the restrooms of all things. I’ve never had to wait in line for a restroom standing in the middle of the dining room. I provided a photo of what the line for the restroom looked like at any given moment. The dining area was cramped, so noisy, and people were constantly elbowing me in the head as they got in and out of their seats behind me. I don’t think this restaurant is ideal for groups larger than 3 or 4.
The food was okay, overpriced but still tasty. I think this place is just ok, kind of overhyped on the reviews. One and done for me! I’d just go to a mom and pop joint next time. -

★ 5Breakfast Republic has creative options and twists on the typical breakfast. I chose the mushroom pesto Benedict. The sauces were incredible and the breakfast potatoes had a delicious flavorful crisp. They were perfectly spiced. The atmosphere is fun and friendly! The views street-side are pretty. The interior is modern and festive. The service was attentive and helpful. Prices were reasonable too.

★ 5Food was great. The shrimp and grits was everything. Great place for a breakfast brunch. And you can buy their merchandise. I got a great shirt for my friend best $22 spent. Wait time was not bad at all

★ 5I went to the Breakfast Republic at their downtown location over the weekend and had a really great experience. Even though it was busy, we were seated in about 15 mins. The ambiance is casual and relaxed.
We started with their in-house freshly squeezed orange juice and the Breakfast Republic specialty latte with vanilla, chai, and mocha. Both were delicious. The OJ was refreshing, and the latte was comforting.
For food, we ordered the Hot Chick Benedict and their Chilaquiles. Everything was flavorful and satisfying, with generous portions and well-seasoned sauces.
We also tried their limited-time special, the Golden Harvest French Toast, and this was the highlight. The brioche French toast topped with ricotta, fig jam, cinnamon-roasted pears, and a sweet honeycomb crumble was absolutely amazing. It was rich & perfectly sweet, and we honestly devoured the whole plate.
Overall, a really enjoyable brunch with great drinks and standout food. -

★ 5Amazing breakfast spot! I had buttermilk pancakes. They were delicious. Nice portion size, good price. Gustavo was our server. He was fabulous . He's very efficient, very kind and truly enjoys his job!! You could see that with his smile. The atmosphere is so unique and welcoming! I would definitely return when I'm back in San Diego!!!
